I do like Taylor, He always looks a good player, If i was Clarky i would have gone in for him at some point,,,, Saying that i would also have offered Liverpool half a mill for Kelly after seeing him play his first game for us, He looked good again last night, Mind you he would have been and gone by now.,,,,, Got to beat the Latics this time, I can see one of em being sent off for flattening Rhodes, 2-0 Town.

This is Oldhams biggest game of the season, playing at the Galpharm...just hope we have a decent ref who will stop them kicking lumps out of our super stars..like they normally do.

maybe someone should do a thread in football manager speak, or total boll-cks in other words..

the best test for a footie manager might be to have them do an aftermatch interview after losing and they are not allowed to blame the ref, linos or the pitch/weather/tiredness or the phases of the moon..

clarks big test would be in the pre match analysis, he wouldnt be allowed to say "how tough the game was going to be" and he wouldnt be allowed to say how much he "respected" the other team/manager..

against oldham, if we get involved in kick and rush and get drawn into a row with them it will be very hard.. If we continually try and play quick stuff and get at their defence and midfield in their half we will score some goals..
Its fairly simple and you and i will know how its going to go after about 10/15 minutes..

If it's anything like last season, it will be kick and rush with a few bumps inbetween. They came for a battle last season and they got it. Lets hope we play football this time.

if the rest of the team remember that we have rhodes/novak up top, thatll help..

no aimless high stuff, novak allows you to hit it into the channels because he will at the very least chase it.. lets hope jordans new found fame worries them enough to double team him, that should leave enough space for others to prosper.. makes no odds to me if we win by loads and jordan does not score..

oldham are a strong team if they are allowed to be.. wycombe have some very respectable results under their belts this season..
oldham were strong at home last season, southampton showed the way...dont get involved in stupidity and a kick and chase..
they do have 2-3 talented players who compliment the hard work of the others, keep the ball and pass it and just "take on" the hard workers seems to be the best idea?

novak in the "hole" and to run off jordan..and to chase the diagonals, he has the legs and the desire...we doubled teamed the full backs at wycome loads of times because of novaks willingness to run into wide areas.. you dont even need the full backs to make the extra man anywhere near as much with a "novak" in your team..
only other point is, one of the central midfielders has to push up further, the cant be stood next to each other too deep..
we "cleared" lots of long balls against wycombe, some into the stand and some back down the ground with some distance on them, lets do it again..no mucking about when there isnt time and no taking too long when we have time..
The rest will sort itself out if we get the basics right.. Everyone, even p clarke looks better when we try to play in their half..
