Interesting, but i cant help but think Marin is massively overrated and it would basically mean we are looking to replace Modric with quite an inferior player

Having seen quite a lot of Podolski, he is a great player, but he often plays the VDV role and i think we are after that striker who can score in just one chance and will stay forward...

I do wonder who we are now looking at, the Remy deal seems to be dead and apparently Hoillet is now going nowhere

marin had a very poor season last season.

i dont personally rate podolski much. he is about the standard of the goooners. we should be after better talents.

cant see i have seen much of mandzukic.. whats his goal record like this season and last season? is he consistent and does he play up top alone?

To be honest im not even sure we need a new winger. If Arry was actually willing to give Kranjcar and maybe even piennar a go i think they are both adequate cover. Just suggesting marin as i would prefer him to hoillet.

Would really like podolski though! Or for about the 3rd year in a row Huntelaar!

i am not sure how anyone can think we dont need an out and out winger.

we set up to play with two fast tricky wingers.. thats how we play.

so when one of our fast tricky wingers is injured, replacing them with a slow attacking midfielder is never the answer.

Both podolski and mandzukic can play behind the striker or wide left if needed to, although i feel their best position remains up front!. True Marin was not great last season but his Werder team were in disarray and when i have seen him play he is always willing to run at players and make things happen.

Yeh Krancjar and Piennar are slow as anything so its a massive difference when they are on the wings compared to bale and lennon. You definitely need to replace like for like especially how our first 11 is based around pace and counter attacking.

Mandzukic's goal record at wolfsburg is not great, but they have been playing him as a winger out of position quite a lot. At dinamo Zagreb he was great, scoring more than a goal every 2 games.

Like i said he is nowhere near the finished article, just might be worth a punt.

Well you have elia reportedly unhappy at juventus, and the old arguments such as jesus navas (although he appears to suffer from home sickness) and farfan, However, i doubt any of these players would be happy on the bench and wages may also be a problem

Must focus on this NEW STRIKER!! How many seasons has it been for us to find the right target and make our move? Harry has been looking for the right player ever since he joined us, will this window be the time we actually do something about it

We dont have problems making the chances..but putting them away

elia has looked good whenever i have seen him.

what about giovinco? all gone quiet on him.. where is he these days

jesus navas is absolute class but just gets homesick anywhere so he wont leave.

hoilett is an obvious suggestion for a reserve wing man. he can play either side and is rapid with a good finish. probably needs to develop his all round game but he has time to do that.

Giovinco currently at parma, doing well as i understand, although apparently juventus want him back! Agree giovinco could be good but he has become more established to playing behind the striker these days!

Agreed with RRP, I think people are getting far too carried away with other cover for other positions. Yes in an ideal world we would all like cover for King/ Gallas as well as cover for Lennon and another striker but if I had to choose another striker is a must as we create so many chances every game all we need is someone clinical to slot these away

Agree with Gazman, striker is a priority.

Huntelaar and van wolfswinkel (who seems to be doing very well in portugal!) Maybe cardozo too, who seems to be struggling for game time at benfica. Also barrios form dortumund. They are looking to sell and price believed to be around 10million euros!
