You will find many mention of words such as form and squads - these are things that people who have a clue about football use to suggest Liverpool have a good chance of getting 4th. Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and to a certain extent Newcastle are seen as contender for 4th because of ALL of these factors. Stoke finishing above Liverpool or Spurs winning the league are seen as less likely, also because of ALL of these factors.

yeah - knew you wouldn't let me down! Does the league table tell you how many of the last say 5 games have been won? What % of games that remain are at home for each team? The league position and form of each team remaining opponents? How tired each player is for the remaining of the season and how good their bench replacement is? No. So I stand by my statement:

No, it is not a contradiction at all. You base you opinion on black and white, or stats. I base my opinion all contributing factors that are involved with football. For example, we knew our team would need time to gel due to the amount of changes that were necessary. Do you think its more likely than not that our performances will improve? The little quirky things that we love about football, such as how many times we've hit the woodwork this season. If these things even themselves out then we'll pick up more points. I know you won't accept these things, because I don't have 'stats' to back them up.... Incidently, you weren't in Little Britain were you? Computer says no....
