It will not change dramatically. As I said, I cannot ever recall a team sitting in 7th in January make the Top 4 – not ever. Something else you all refuse to take into account.

I also cannot see Wigan winning the league.

I've just read through the comments and no one's said we're favourites for 4th. We are in contention for 4th, there's a big difference. Unless you account for your magical cut off point that rules Arsenal in and us out .

Again using your logic. You are 5 points off City in 1st. Therefore all talk of Spurs challenging for the title should be ignored. After all 5 points is too much to overhaul in 17 games.

You said it! FORM - LEAGUE POSITION - put those two together! You still haven't come up with a reasoned response regarding your 'theory' putting Liverpool squarely in contention LAST WEEK (i.e. the FORM part)!!!!

Its not a "magical" cut off point, its one based on common sense. As i said (for about the 5th time), i cannot recall any team sitting in 7th, in late January, ever making 4th spot. This would make your "contention" for 4th even more unlikely.

And i agreed that making 5pts up on City is also very unlikely, so i dont know what your point is there.

Do you realise you are just as close to Stoke in 8th as you are to 4th?



Lastly, when speaking about contenders for 4th place (in January) how far down the league do you think we should go? Do you think its realistic to include any team where it is mathematically possible, or just down as far as Liverpool - to keep this board happy?
