Imitation Game - Excellent film, Cumberbach was good as usual,

The Drop was equally as good, Hardy and Gandalfini (spelling) great chemistry, good twist to it also

Really enjoyed the scene where he lost it over being lonely near the end, really bought in to it, was rather sad actually.

there are good bad films though which are still enjoyable

case in point, was watching Stardust the other week. absolute trash but in a weird way it was so bad it was actually good. (plus Claire Danes and Michelle Pfeiffer )

Which film (or film franchise) do you think is most commonly aired on television? It beggars belief how often one of the incarnations of ‘Ice Age’ is on.

Anyone seen ‘Gone Girl’, my mate is in a film club and told me they all loved it.

Shawshank Redemption has to be one of the most over-played films ever. pretty over-rated film too

and the Kevin Costner Robin Hood is another one seems to be shown way too much. don't much care for that one I have to say, without Alan Rickman the film becomes actually unwatchable

as for Gone Girl, well I loved it, for me the best film I've seen in 2014. having said that, got a couple of mates who are quite serious film buffs and they were under-whelmed by it. apparently if you've read the book beforehand and know the big plot twist the film is pretty crap won't be a and give it away but it is a plot twist that'll ruin the film for you

Completely agree on Shawshank Redemption, it is a good film but I’m shocked the number of people who consistently rate it the best film ever made or in their top 5. I guarantee if A.) it didn’t have the dulcet tones of Morgan Freeman narrating it and B.) feel good sentiment of an unlikely cross race friendship between the two protagonists it would be well off the radar.

Gone girl the book is pretty good want to see the film reviews are consistently good

Anyone see that weird film ‘A Field in England’ released last year? Haven’t seen it yet, certainly seems to divide opinion. Apparently it was released at the cinema, DVD and aired on TV simultaneously, I suppose a little gimmicky like musicians giving their album away free for download or in the paper. The film is about deserters during the English civil war.

Die hard & Back to the future are on way way too often...

(mind you i'm a huge James Bond fan...& the same can be said of them too)

Can't wait for the new one though (Casino Royale is the best by miles)..& Mission Impossible 5

Unmissably mental

You will either love it, or hate it.
