the points tallies says more about what is 7th and below more than any great "competition" at the top end..
same as last season the gap between the top teams and the also rans was large.. it will be again..
we gave wycombe a good hiding, but the reality of the game was that they were totally sh-t and some of their defending would embarrass a coach of an under 10s team who were getting massive hidings every week..
that followed the two "defensive" performances at hillsborough where neither side could be said to have produced an "attacking masterpiece" on the day but still scored 4 apiece..
the goals for, for the top 4-5 gives it away..
this is a league where whatever we do defensively in a game(saturday proved that for us) we should still be able to score enough to win the game..(we only played for 48 minutes and scored 3 and hit the bar twice)...
megson, lee clark and wilson along with powell are sh-tting themselves most weeks because they really dont have a leg to stand on if they drop points against anyone other than the top 5.. they know it and we know it..
Leave our ground alone pal! I would want either you or United as it would be a better Championship next year! Hopefully we both finish top 2 and United do the play offs!
If only we could all have favours from the refs!
That Alan Lee goal is truly horrendous officiating!!
In fact, we don't need favours, just the correct decisions!
We will take it! Should Balotteli have been on the pitch to win & score that pen yesterday? Thats football! So Wednesdayites how will YOU stop Rhodes guideing Town to auto?
Redknapp ought to be pleased he'd stayed on, if he'd been sent off Spurs would have returned to the pleasure of a firework display in their own dressing room!
Yeah, Balotelli did nowt wrong imo. He never looked behind him & it's a natural reaction for your foot to return to the floor. Was just an unfortunate collision!
The 'that's football' argument always comes out when you're on the right end of an appaling decision, the other way round I'm fairly sure you'd be of a different opinion!
i monster..
the alan lee goal was probably the first dodgy decision we have had this season.. the injury time at hillsborough was very well warranted.. time wasting started long before the end, pruton took nearly 2 minutes to be substituted(the tw-t was given a standing ovation-unbelievable from a man whos sole contribution was to kick 3/4 opponents and get himself booked!!)..
the penalty on saturday wasnt, captain klutz actually missed both the ball and the player, the lad went down as the challenge was made, realised he hadnt even been touched and got straight up again..he was actually embarrased to get any decision..the lino 20 yards away looking straight at it gave nothing , the ref 50 yards away on the blind side gave a penalty..
all the decisions, f-ck off...
But we wern't , so I couldn't care less! Just like you wouldn't if you had 'scored' that goal!
as a manager i would have torn my keeper off a strip..far to soft, he threw himself into the net..too busy watching lee and not making the ball his.. elbows and knees from a keeper in that position.. lee actually got strangled 2/3 times during the game, got nothing, swings and roundabouts..
Yay 1 Star - I'm going to give it a 1 myself now!
Damn it, I thought you could rate your own threads? Could we do that on the BBC?
Theres definitely more concrete cows in MK than in 'Uddersfield
I agree with 38.
Although I realise that Lee looked behind, the keeper was far too weak in the challange. If he had tried to go for the ball and gone through Lee, then he probably would have won himself a free kick. Being weak in a challenge does not warrant winning a free kick.
I meant challenge, obviously.
the "act" of falling over shouldnt on its own warrant a free kick..
sick of watching two players tussle for the ball, they are both holding and then the "soft" one falls over and its a free kick???
better refs who have played the game would sort that out..not fat little tw-ts who dont look like they could run upstairs with an oxygen tent to help them..
the ref last year in the opening game v notts county was the best i have seen for a long time.. if they are both "at it" he let it go, just spoke in passing to the players involved.. we eventually got a game where pulling and shoving just about dissapeared in the second half.. ref also sorted our diving champ out and also got hughes playing within the rules, mostly..
So who is the central midfielder that GM has identified today? Once you are back from court MM, can you let us know?
I think that all referees should be former players, as they know the game.
So Owls fans, will Town get Marshall?
GM is after Kilbane apparently but then twitter is fast becoming as laughable as Football rumours for Football rumours
Oh and Wetherby whos this Marshall you's on about?
I think all goalies should be Pressman size, try pushing him Alan Lee ya big bully ...
Can remember Pressman putting a Millwall fan on his backside during a cup match, guy was apparently telling him he wouldnt leave the ground alive.
We were 3-1 up ... those were the days!
The central midfielder is unnamed..
.. a bit like the Red Shadow..
.. in our case the Blue Shadow
I reckon zorro would do in CM bit more stylish than Rambo and Chris Lines
if the keeper had actually tried to get the ball then yeah it was a foul!! but he didnt he just backed into his own net so he,s to blame!
