This from the bloke who's admitted to walking away from business deals he, presumably, wanted through a lack of preparation or proper definition?. Thats not mentioning the "What has turnover got to do with enterprise value?" gem earlier?!. OK.

----------------------------------------------------

When did I admit that? I stated the fact that I'd been part of negotiations to buy businesses that didn't come to fruition due to a difference in opinion on the value.

As per you've added your own interpretation as to the reason for this (totally incorrectly btw) & then posted it as 'fact'.

As for your last sentence, maybe when you've answered that specific question (or googled it, as you've patently not got a clue) then you might realise the stupidity of you attemtping to belittle me with it....

I think I know what you are going to try and argue....that the value of the business is based on fixed assets etc and turnover is unrelated...if it is dont bother thats just semantics and fools nobody.

--------------------------------------------------

No I wasn't going to suggest that at all, so yet another incorrect assumption Steve.

I asked that specific question as you were relating turnover to enterprise value, so I thought I'd test your knowledge.

You've now obliged & confirmed what I always suspected.

Thanks

Is this still rumbling on!

Question to you all..If a copy of the.accounts can be obtained from companies house why the need for an ND? Also if it is going to lavish three guys.....well all share holders with a nice return....where are the offers?

And lets not talk about the suggested asking price, look at the books will show you that'd a bit high. So using the house example from earlier.....who paid full asking price for there house then?

Because the audited acounts have limited meaning in terms of getting a real grasp of what's going on in the business.

Any prospective purchaser would want the management accounts.

Again TB you missed out that part of the rebuttal where you actually prove something.

I proved nothing Steve & didn't profess to, your response did though

As for Lerner;

"Lerner has since funded the £23.5 million purchase of Darren Bent in the January transfer window, and the latest accounts for Villa’s parent company, Reform Acquisitions Limited, reveal the scale of Lerner’s investment in the club.

Since taking control at Villa Park in 2006 he has injected £205 million in the form of equity and loan notes to underwrite player purchases, infrastructure and losses.

Last season Lerner put in £25 million, £12.5 million via the issuing of new shares, with a further £12.5 million in loan notes repayable in 2019.

Lerner’s total equity investment in the club now totals £115 million, and the total loans stand at £90 million. Villa also has a bank loan of £20.5 million, £2.5 million of which has to be repaid by July 2012."

The fact that MON spewed most his cash on a number of poor buys on huge contracts, doesn't alter the fact that he backed him to the hilt with alarge portion of his own cash - what could Moyes have done with the same amount of financial backing from Kenwright & Co.? (or any backing at all for that matter )

Yeh, he may well have give them £200 million, but look where it has got them.

That is a flawed argument CC,as you must surely know.

Wasn't Bents move to Villa funded by the Barry and Milner moves to City?
