Have we been kicked out of the league?
To be fair, he seems to have tried to improve our reputation so maybe when he took over at Leeds it was a bit of a Brian Clough situation. When Clough became manager he set out to get rid of the "dirty style" although that was hard considering every team had it. Maybe that was the case with Bates but with the fans, as he's said before that with the implementation of the membership only system for away games we get more tickets, and bans seem to be stricter.

The quote has been said many times, it's true. It's after we destroyed Chelsea's brand new big screen.
One could say he tried with the admin shenanigans.
To be fair, he was outraged at the time and given his personality - not surprising his mouth was working faster than his brain.
midfield, back in the day we deserved to be kicked out of the league because of our fans. Along with a number of other clubs.
We were a disgrace.
That says it all really.
to be fair chorley, chelsea's lot were no angels....& papa knew it....
The majority of our fans have always been angels!
I enjoyed wrecking their scoreboard in the 80's, it was fun!
pot kettle black springs to mind.
The same person that feeds lie after lie,not to mention the obscene gestures
If I remember correctly, which crackpot suggested putting up electric fencing around the pitch to stop any fans running onto the pitch. He may have said it tongue in cheek, but knowing him he would probably have done it,and anyone who got a shock, would have had an electric bill to go with it.

I am merely one of thousands
RSL it wont bother bates what so ever he is a millionaire and thats why he lives in monaco
RSL, you don't affect Bates at all. The club lives and dies by it's own income.
Precisely CasWhite you got it eventually
So thousands of stay away fans wont change things?
At present there isn't thousands of stay aways. When we get to average crowds similar to the mid 80's then you may be right.
harj, I did say along with a number of other clubs.
CasWhite, football is far more popular these days than the 80s so it aint fair to compare but forgive I thought gates were down
