I've got the same problem, but first class train tickets, Arsenal v Milan at the Emitrates, 5 star hotel - I think I could miss Town v Hartlepool for that! I'm already missing the Town v Sheff Utd match because of a MASSIVE schoolboy error which means I'll spend Valentines Day at the bloody theatre instead!

I miss 2/3 games a season tops, but I make sure when I do miss them it's for good reason - this season being a holiday in Turkey, bloody Valentines Day, Stevenage being re-arranged and my Grandparents golden wedding anniversary. I do all the horrid trips, I pay all the ludicrous train fees, I drive all the long distances, I sit through all the rubbish - but it's amazing so I don't mind. At the same time however if I know there is something else I need to do or another priority which arises I have no problem switching it off.

One thing I will say though - you might want to find someone to go to matches with, there's nothing worse than going to matches alone. Nobody to vent to, nobody to have a pint with, nobody to talk to on the journey there and back. It's a lonely experience!

I travel over 3000 miles per season for home games and I go to at least 10 away games per season. On Saturday it took me five and a half hours to do 70 miles cos of the weather and a jackknifed lorry!

I know people travel further than me,but I have to question wtf im doing half the time, but I think I will reconsider my season ticket next season if the current manager and half arrrsed football is on offer.

At the same time regardless of what I've said above I'll probably still be there next season

Mrs Inter can't believe there is a game on Valentines Day too. I do tell her I can tell her I love her anytime of the year and that day means nothing to us mere men. Still she says she wants to come, so if Cas has a spare ticket I'll gladly take it off him

Like Tez says though Booooothy. Don't go alone, just ask if anyone fancies going too. I've met both Tez and Cas from these boards and have been to about five away games already with Tez.

I tried being romantic so booked me and the missus tickets to see Legally Blonde live in Sheffield on Valentines Day before remembering Town were at home to Sheffield United the same night! As always though Inter, no tickets available I'm afraid - family first and all that...

Worth a try Cas. Looks like she's gonna have to buy her own then

So you're not gonna be able to make Sheff Utd game then Tez? Has Mrs Tez firmly put her foot down??

I've followed Town for 50 years (showing my age now), and never ever in the remotest possibility could consider missing a game. I was hooked, nothing could keep me away..until...I got fed up of watching boring games week after week at the start of last season..I sat there, usually by myself but sometimes with my brother or son..and I thought to myself..I'm not interested in this..it's cr-ap, boring , aimless, meaningless football and why am I sat here, paying all this money out ?

Since then I have never got truelly hooked again, most games are disappointing, most times there is no adrenaline and most times the buzz just isn't there any more.

This is Lee Clark's legacy, and I never ever thought I would feel like that. I still listen on the radio when I don't go down, but I pick my games now..

I yearn for the days when there was passion and excitment and the crowd were buzzing, the players were 100% committed, but nowadays...it's 90% boring rubbish.

If you are still adicted to this rubbish, then you are well and truelly hooked mate.

I'm still in rehab.

i really want him out. i think mark lillis would get us promoted haha

As long as I get to see Town in the top tier once during that period I'll be happy!

The one good thing about supporting Town though is that although we have our fair share of boring matches, we very rarely have boring seasons. We're not a mid-table team, we're always bouncing around promotion or relegation battles. It might be more stressful but it's certainly more exciting than supporting half the teams in this country!

to the moon and back watching town probably..

maybe the spirit has gone out of the game across the board..its certainly been missing at town for a while..

we have been cr=p for many of the seasons i have watched us but we had some fight and the expectation level was very much lower..

you remember the good and bad seasons and the great and awfull games.. how many games from last season will go down in the memory???
brighton away, because of the bike ride is probably about it.. wednesday away because of the "complete performance" ..cant recall too many others that stick in the mind.
The unbeaten run is for the history books, it wasnt great to watch or endure at times, its just a number with not too many really good games/performances in it im afraid..
I remember hartlepool under buxton, i even remember watford under greaves, i just dont think there will be any great games under lee clark that will stick with me..

I've been lucky enough to see Town in all four divisions, can clearly recall the season we went up the 1st, and watching Town beat Spurs on a tuesday night to briefly go top of the league !

I've also seen us in the depths of division 4 with crowds of 2,000..I've been to Wembley, Cardiff, and OT , and to most away grounds over the years.

Hopefully when we start to play some more exciting football I'll be back on a more regular basis.

You don't think it's an age thing do you...ffs !

no jacko..
its the change in the money that the players earn..they havent been our team for a long time..
the amount of transfers and players changing clubs after one season or less nowadays has removed the feeling that they are playing for "us", they are virtually to a man playing for themselves, the colour of the shirt is secondary..
Boothy played for "town" and a few others of that era...since then its been a lot of journeymen earning good money and others trying like hell to get more money as soon as they can by moving on or squeezing dean hoyle..
Lee clark does not appear to engender any sense of club pride and as an ex player who earned good money whilst being a very avergage footballer he does seem to "back" players who have a couple of good games into believing they are "far too good for us" and deserve more money or a move.. Truth is , even with rhodes, they are not too good for us, they are all missing vital parts of the all round game and the sad fact is they may end up moving to get the help they require, rather than being told they are just with us till the right move comes along..

Kindo is a really top bloke Boots, but tends to shy away from this board now due to moaners. If you read his Facebook status' he really is a positive Town Fan who attends lots of games with the same positive attitude. Send him a message on twitter, he'll get back to ya
