if mancini wants to wave imaginary cards

rooney can mock the toures

deal?

posted on 14/2/12

Of course he can. Deal, everything can be solved with a handshake.

Still seeems to make Rooney a Hypocrite tho

You could apply the logic to every single football fan my boy.

How do our records stand up to theirs on the football pitch?

I'm not sure you understand what being a hypocrite means as well

Surely most sensible United fans (and most of you on here are to be fair) must concur that Rooney's tweet was a bit immature and could come back and bite him on his bum

"could come back and bite him on his bum"

Oh dear, is this another Suarez article?

Doesn't matter, because we're talking International football here.

If Rooney was making fun of Citys trophy haul, that would make sense.

But he's making fun of the Toures international record, which seems odd given Rooneys lack of success for England

Armadillo

Suarez would nip him on the arm like a 5 year old in the playground

I personally think Rooney shouldn't have tweeted that. It was not really normal banter because he wasn't even involved in the competition.

It matters because as football fans we slate them all the time for every missed pass, tackle or shot.

How do our records stand up to theirs? Using your logic we can't slate them as we haven't done better than them.

We aren't professional footballers, we aren't competing against them. So we do have the right to be 'critics.'

Rooneys had opportunities to better the Toure brothers on the International stage, and hasn't done so yet. if he can't do his international job any better than the Toures, he's not wise to mock them.

It was uncalled for IMO.

It's a harmless comment by Rooney, but nevertheless a pretty stupid one. The kind of comment that could fire up players so that they do their utmost to ensure that it isn't long before the person making such a comment finds themselves on the receiving end of some retaliatory mocking.

As a City fan, I'd like to thank Rooney for his tweet.

I don't think I could care less what footballers put on Twitter, but I will try.

The papers jump on anything and write a story about it. Yesterday, Rio tweeted this;

"My lil men have not moved off their seats since we got on, I told them "You get off your chair and the train manager will take you away" ^_^"

I'm surprised a rag hasn't picked that up as child cruelty.

Why shouldn't he laugh at them? Did you see the side Ivory Coast lost to? His own international record stands up against the Toure's, neither have won anything.

Ivory Coast are pretty much the African equivalent of England. Always look like their squad is good enough to win it yet underperform.

Thunderkiss

Why just the Toures? Why not Drogba, or Tiote, or Gervinho, or just the entire Ivory Coast team then?

I believe the point he was making was they they were absent from city for the length of the whole tounament, which may have been a worthwhile thing if they'd won it, but they didn't!!!

No need to ruffle their feathers but hardly newsworthy!!!

posted on 14/2/12

If he wants to laugh why not? When Man United lose we get LAM articles from teams lower than us and there is no fuss so why should there be one now

posted on 14/2/12

He doesn't have to play against those players again this season. Wind the Toures up, get one sent off, win the league.

posted on 14/2/12

he was wumming city, im pretty sure if the toures didnt play for City and in the premier league he wouldnt have tweeted that at all.

look how the papers have made a massive story about it and now hes deleted the comment off his twitter, absolutely pathetic this country is !

I dont think Rooney should mock Toures because he can't go on not scoring for Chelsea, and Rooney's been through the odd dry spell
