Spurs players won't like the fact that a young lad can just come in and be the highest earner - all the other players and regulars will want increases.
This is bad news for Spurs fans
I knew a fan of a Rival club would make a comment like this.
just a genuine thought.
what do you think of my comment?
Hazard will most likely go Real.
Zidane (Real Madrid Director of Football) has long admired Hazard, and has never disguised the fact that he would like to bring him to Madird.
Lets be honest, if it's a choice of Spurs Chelsea or Madrid for Hazard, there will only ever be one winner.
Metro IMO i think its a done deal.
I don't think many people know what our wage cap is. I have heard the media guess. I think it's 80k. It's certainly higher than 70k. In any case this summer if levy wants to keep bale and Modric then he is going to have to offer them close to 100k a week I think
Metro IMO i think its a done deal.

He would be a great signing and he'd suit your style of play
How can you possibly think it's a done deal?
We don't know if there is any truth in this rumour at all, either that he wants to come to us, or for the wages.
As a club, we have done very well over the years to keep our wages down, the recent streamlining of the club as well, removing some high earners that weren't playing often enough means that we can probably afford to spend a bit more on the core team.
We also know that we have shown intent to increase our highest wage in recent times, but we haven't actually done it yet. I'm sure Levy will have a better uinderstanding of it all than we do.
As for Metro's comment, I can understand what you are saying, but making the team stronger will only benefit the team, hopefully they shouldn't be so blinded by personal wealth but rather ambitions of the club. Also Metro - without wanting to put words in your mouth, this has come from the Sun, so as a Liverpool fan Im sure you will have no problem in excepting this could very well just be made up.

So you think he will go to real based on the fact that real Madrid like him? Talk about flimsy. Especially after hazards comments this week.
Furthermore there is not necessarily one winner. If hazard comes to spurs he knows he will play. At real he will probably get lots of time on the bench. As they have ronaldo di Maria ozil and kaka. If he is well advised he may use us as a stepping stone. Look at lukaku. He is rotting at Chelsea and he was hyped more than hazard. He should have gone to a club where he will play every week
Im sure our wage cap is now over 70k, doesn't mean we actually pay it though.
Are they actually any respectable sources available saying that this is a done deal?

There is no way a 20 yr old playing for Lille gets £50k a week.
Their stadium has a capacity of less than 20k. (although a new one of +50k is being built) French football finances are nothing compared to the UK and the majority of mid to low table EPL teams cannot afford players on £50k a week.

Spurs have a good chance of getting him, but a done deal? Please.

Underestimate Darth Levy at your peril.
Bale recently signed a new contract, I would have expected that to have been somewhere around 90-100k a week. I would also think Modric would equally be on a substantial amount allowing for last years problems.
We are also paying Ade 90k as part of the loan arrangement, so I see no problem in paying Hazard in excess of 70k.
THere are rumours that we might be being used to get Barca or RM to get involved...................................again its only a rumour so will wait to see how this pans out.
He is an exciting prospect with bags of ability, would fit in extremely well to our type of football.
I never believe in done deals until I see them with the shirt.

To me the key quote sadly is 'It is a nice club with a lot of good players and absolutely a top coach'
With Harry's future in the air, I guess the transfer could hang on who is with us come the summer.

Just IMO lads !
It's clearly not a done deal. Spurs transfer are never as quick and smooth as this one seems to apparently have been
Chronic remember the Modric deal,That come out of no where.
I think we were just wondering if there was any solid proof behind the rumours, his interview was incredibly ambiguous, you can't go on that surely?
Sounds like when we got all excited and convinced we'd sign Edinson Cavani.
The Modric deal was late April, it would be good if we could get things done nice and early. Going off topic a bit, perhaps Levy has decided to try and step up the pace and show to Harry that his job isn't done here yet, moves like this may help sway him.
Cavani to LFC...now that is ridiculous. Fishing in the wrong pond there Fred!
