Eden Hazard Latest !

He's the one mentioning Spurs, not the other way around..

Our stock is rising....hell even LFC fans accept we are good! He probably had a word with Joe Cole, so LFC have no chance

I doubt we're even in the market for Hazard but Devonshire, even you can admit that considering it would be the legend Zinedine Zidane persuading him to join. Anybody would find that hard to turn down.

Real Madrid or Spurs, no competition.

Apparently he said this (from the fail)

''The opportunities would be much smaller. The competition would be strong at Tottenham too, but less so that at Barca or Real.

'I think I can learn the most in England. You play a big game every week and the atmosphere is great.'

So it could go either way, he could see us as somewhere to come and learn more whilst playing often, rather than to spend time on RM's bench. Its all subjective though at this moment, it all depends on where his own head is. If he is as good as he is made out then Im sure he will end up at one of the giants in time, but why rush things when you're still young. Personally I'd rather play on a regular basis than play for RM, but then thats just me. We all know players aren't always like that.

Chronic remember the Modric deal,That come out of no where.

---------

Modric was largely unknown when we signed him. we signed him right before the Euros when he had a good tournament...

Depends though because in French speaking Belgium and France, Zidane is practically a God, that will swing it.

Absolutely love Zidane; one of my favourite non-LFC players of all time alongside Kaka, Messi and Ronaldinho.

Fred. You're stating the obvious, but like Moments is saying above, there are other factors that determine where a player goes. That is what Spurs will be selling to him...the project, the opportunities, the character of the club. Not every young player wants to be surrounded by galacticos and not every young player will develop in that atmosphere.

Do we know who this Hazard guy is yet?

posted on 15/2/12

I still think you guys are getting overexcited, saying it's a done deal, after some very ambiguous quotes.

Does this mean i should cancel the Hazard tattoo im getting on my chin?

Fred - Personally I don't think it is a done deal, but it does show signs that as a club we are moving in the right direction when a player that is apparently heading for great things starts mentioning us in regards to his future plans. It tells me that as a club we have come on along way in the last few years that a player who is linked with the likes of Real and Barca will mention us. I'm more of a negative person, so will always take these things with a vast pinch of salt, yet at least the ambition of the club is being reflected onto a greater stage. and to me that is just as important as signing a player with the reputation Hazard has (or potentially he has)

RRP - does that mean your forehead has already been inked up?

No no, but i think i would look a bit silly with it on my forehead, the chin area is much more classy

Sorry but it was the interviewer that brought up Spurs originally, not Hazard himself.

Hazard, who is regarded among the hottest prospects in Europe said: 'I have not signed anything at Tottenham.

'Maybe I will play there next season. It is a nice club with a lot of good players and absolutely a top coach.

'The transfer is still pending. I have not signed anything yet, but I hope it will happen in the near future.'

RRP You don't speak French do you?

I've seen the original interview in French mate and that's not at all what was said.

I don't think the wages will be the issue, it's more likely the actual transfer fee will be the stumbling block... Can't see Darth ever paying 30+ million for one player, but I'd be more than happy to be mistaken on this one...

I also see Fernando Llorente's deal at Bilbao has one year left to run by the time the transfer window reopens -would be a superb signing for whoever can get him...

Fred - To be fair i just got it from the Daily Mail article

Although i would expect them to translate it, apparently Hazard did more than 1 interview and thats why things are getting mixed up

posted on 15/2/12

No the interview said similar things to that but the mail have clearly twisted it. I have seen where that translation has come from and I can promise you it's been twisted.

Fred - whether the interviewer brought it up, the fact that Hazard didn't rule it out, and actually commented on the coach and the club itself. As RRP has also quoted him above saying things about us. Its better to be linked to players such as Hazard than to not be, at least it shows that we have come on in the last few years. If he only has eyes for the Spanish giants he could have just dismissed it rather than showing signs of knowledge about our club. Especially as this season our only European adventure was fielding primarily youth players in the EL, its still good to be linked to these players than not.
