No he was world class at Liverpool. Not juts Liverpool fans hyping him. I used to love watching him.

He was world class, there is no denying that.

He was a lot closer when he played for Liverpool, but then anyone would stick out among those duds.

65 goals in 102 games, there will be few better in the EPL.

In all honesty, Torres wouldn't have been half the player without Gerrard in the team.

And most Liverpool fans agreed that his final 12 months for the club were poor by his own standards.

His attitude is the enemy

He was class, maybe he benefitted from being the main man and being adored by the fans but chelsea have a habit of ruining strikers i.e shevchenko and crespo

At Liverpool he had Gerrard's service, whereas at Chelsea he has nowhere near the same service.

He didnt play tonight mate

He was in spade loads, and I don't think Ive seen a natural talent like his at Liverpool before. The downside is his mentality which is very frail. He needs a fresh start to recover his form

Gerrard did have a big part to play, but the amount of times Torres picked the ball up, turned, beat a defender and slotted it away was unreal, there is no reason why he can't do that at Chelsea.

Torres was world class. But I do think Gerrard made him what he was.

While he was banging in the goal I always said he'd struggle if he left Liverpool...

Gerrard through balls are way underrated.

As much as I laugh at him now, he was awesome. I loved him in our side. Confidence seems pretty big in his game and he is at rock bottom now. I think he WAS world class. Now, he's not even business class. Club class at best!

no it wasnt just Gerrard... Torres scored some absolute blinders without a gerrard assist.

wud be interesting to see the stats

Anfield...I must admit that it quite true...but seems a long time ago right now!

Spot on.

Like I said, Gerrard was class, but Torres was just as quality on his own.

Gerrard being in the team alone gave Torres confidence as he knew there was someone that would always support and assist him.

------------------------

Obviously Gerrard helped, but he didn't score all his goals because of Gerrard.

I don't see how it can be a confidence thing, it does not take nearly two years to get over a 'confidence crisis.'

Something else had destroyed his game, but i can't think of another footballer who this has happened to.

Maybe he is no longer TORO, but just an ordinary steer...like he got knackered...

Have a look at the link in here and make your own mind up. all the goals he scored at Liverpool.

In my opinion he was world class. He's not at Chelsea but I honestly believe that's because he hates it there. I'd hate to work with Terry and Cole too

I think it just shows the difference in clubs between Chelsea and Liverpool when you look at both Meireles and Torres.

It does. One club has heart, history passion and romance, the other is a club of mercenaries and plastic flag wavers. I know who I'd rather play for, and Meireles and Torres have proven the pint.
