Even if we won in Naples, it would only be a little morale boost. Just papering over the cracks
So the club went backwards to go forwards. Why can't that be with Boas ?
-------------------------
Some good analogy's you make there Chameleon, the only thing I would say is that the club couldn't have gone backwards to go forwards by keeping Hurst in situ. He had clearly run out of ideas and his position was untenable.
John Neal when he came in was already an experienced manager and used that experience to deal more successfully with the player power problems that he encountered. Hence the reason that I never doubted him for a minute even when we nearly went down to Division 3. If memory serves, people like Fillery, in 81-82 and Walker 82-83 et al, who were some of the culprits at the time were'nt alienated against John Neal personally. John Neal wasn't as confrontational and antagonistic as AVB appears to be.
Little man syndrome
He definitely lost the team with the Anelka / Alex split. Ruffled alot of feathers amongst the old guard. They started to think about their futures right there. I don't know if he's the right man, but these players have had best years at the club. They are seriously in decline. It needed to be done 2 years ago, and the board are getting off lightly with this IMO
True. We should have moved forward 2 years ago but we stuck with what we had. As for the board I am not fans of either Buck or Gourlay.
It's getting ugly now, and the players need to snap out of it. Just for the sake of their reputations. They are gonna be remembered in the wrong way
Agree. Even though I still don't think AVB is the man for us, the players have to take a large share of the blame, because he doesn't go out on the pitch and some of the individual errors being made at the moment are amateurish.
1969
When the team make this many mistakes during the season, defensively at least, questions should be asked into how they prepare for matches and do they know what they're doing out on the pitch. A few mistakes here and there is acceptable but we're seeing the same thing over and over and over again. AVB's tries overcoaching our players imo
I've lost count the number of times we've played strikers onside, been caught out of position, defenders miskicking, misplacing passes outside our own penalty area. This is not just a now and again thing. Its been happening consistently during the course of the season
stick with abv
get rid of JT Lamps Chec and Dog
get your youth sorted and play them
give abv money to spend wisely
within 5 years CFC will win the CL.
be patient during these 5 years

AVB out ...Rant Over
Spring Sale: Buy AVB and you will get Lampard, Drogba and Malouda Free
Romans legacy is what you need to cling on too.
Now you need a manager who will do a Fergie. (who won fook all for the first 5 years)
Lampard, Drogba and Malouda
There's the problem right there. We have zero creativity. None
TCP
I feel for AVB and he deserves better...but his tactics are baffling me. Give him till next January, let's see if he can revive us or will sink us completely
Boas tried to get Modric / Pastore. He knew what the team needed
Malouda should have gone about a year and a half ago IMO. Zero creativity + zero effort.
Hopefully we'll have Downing to replace Malouda this summer
I'm torn aswell. On the one hand I think get rid of aVB but then I think who out of the manager and the playing staff is genuinely trying to bring silverware back to the bridge?
