How is Messi the most 'complete footballer', I hate that. he can't defend, he can't outjump a centre half, he is 2 ft something. Zizou is an example of a complete footballer, he could do anything.
WorlWorlds best footballer, I'd say so, certainly the worlds best attacking footballer, but most complete? Please.
Sheasie is a more complete footballer than Messi. Good in goal too.
Busby

Really?!
I'm pretty sure you know what i meant by complete?
In an attacking role, or within his area of expertise.
Why do people nit pick the littlest of things?
But that's irrespective as he thinks Rooney is one of the players in a bracket close to him
Ronaldo has more to his game than Messi and he isnt even the most complete footballer.
What about Heskey? He is a pretty complete player, he doesn't excel at one specific thing.
BusbyBabes
How can you not appreciate what Messi is actually good at? Even most of the French people I know consider Messi to be better than Zidane (and I live out here).
Idiot
You completely misread what BusbyBabes said fred.
How can you not appreciate what Messi is actually good at?
Gimp, read what I said. Best in the world, yes.
He is the most complete. No player can do everything. He can pass, finish and dribble better than anyone. Despite his size he has a decent header, is relatively strong and makes numerous tackles due to his impressive work rate.
I can't think of any more complete than that in modern football.

He isnt even the most complete is his position - that is Ronaldo; right foot, left foot, headers, tap-ins, 40 yard power blasters, dipping volleys, top corner curlers, freekicks, penalties, dribbling, frightening speed etc. etc.
Messi is the best player in the world, but Ronaldo is more complete.
Messi is by far no where near the most complete player in the world.
He's no where near comfortable on his right foot than his left foot.
Is he able to score from incredible distances like some of the greats could?
Does he track back and defend on the line?
Is he strong in the air?
This is by no means bringing him down, I'd be world-class with just his left foot, he's astonishing, but he's no where near complete.
Like Elvis said, Ronaldo is more of a complete player than Ronaldo. If Ronaldo had the ability to defend, time tackles, I think he would then become the complete footballer.
Like Elvis said, Messi is more of a complete player than Ronaldo.*
he can't outjump a centre half

Erm.
I seem to remember a certain Lio Messi scoring a cracking a header against ....ahem...Man United .......in the ahem Champions League final. And a fine header it was. He has scored a few headers this season also. Left foot, right foot, heads them in. Complete player if you ask me.
Excuse me stutter

which one of these does messi not do`?
---------------------------------------
Its not case of doing them - it is a case of doing them to the same level or better than Ronaldo.
He isnt as good with his weaker foot.
He isnt as strong in the air.
He isnt as fast.
He isnt as good at freekicks.
He doesnt ten to score long range efforts
He isnt even the most complete is his position - that is Ronaldo; right foot, left foot, headers, tap-ins, 40 yard power blasters, dipping volleys, top corner curlers, freekicks, penalties, dribbling, frightening speed etc. etc.

I disagree. Apart from 30-40 yarders i believe Messi beats Ronaldo all over. CR9s free kicks are frighteningly overrated, and Messi has upped his game in this department. Messi is also the far better passer and team player. Ronaldo may be more physically imposing but I would take Messi over Ronaldo every time in a defensive situation too.

In some areas Messi is above Ronaldo, such as passing, dribbling, chip finishes.
However, Ronaldo is in my opinion the more complete player and stronger in more areas.
I still think that Messi is the best player in the world though because what he does best is way beyound anyone else.
Messi for me.
Ronaldo, no thanks
