Illadelph Halflife was the first Roots album I bought. Very good album - they have 5 very good albums imo.

Illadelph, Want more, Phrenology, Game Theory and?

Rising Down.

Organix, Things Fall Apart and the last 3 are good as well, just not as strong as those 5

Yeah all there albums are pretty good, just find a few of them too experimental to have that repeat factor.

I think Organix seems a little over the shop, can't warm to it.

Phrenology for me.

So... Best Album of 2015?
Favourite new artist?
Anyone you have discovered from the past in 2015 that has made your hip hop experience better?
Any other thoughts on hip-hop in 2015?
Anything you are looking forward to in 2016 in terms of hip-hop?

Not really followed new hip-hop in 2015. The only new album I've heard and actually rated is Jay Rock 90059.

Kool Moe Dee and Jeru the Damaja are probably my two favourite past time rappers that I've discovered this year.

To Pimp a Butterfly

Favourite new artist?

Can't think of one tbh

Anyone you have discovered from the past in 2015 that has made your hip hop experience better?

How long ago counts as the past? Drake has been around for years now and I've only really gotten into him this year

Any other thoughts on hip-hop in 2015?

Bit too trap influenced for my liking

Anything you are looking forward to in 2016 in terms of hip-hop?

Mick Jenkins debut album hopefully

Havent really listened to a lot of rap this year...or even spent time trying to find new artist...apart from Joyner Lucas after his BET Cypher.

Best Album of 2015? Tie
Musically - TPAB
Barz - Tetsuo & Youth

Favourite new artist? Joyner Lucas

Anyone you have discovered from the past in 2015 that has made your hip hop experience better? Dre

Any other thoughts on hip-hop in 2015? Great year for rap...but not as good as 2013.

Anything you are looking forward to in 2016 in terms of hip-hop? Not much...decent artists dropped their stuff this year. Only Kanye to drop in 2016.
Still waiting on that Elzhi album though

And hopefully Kembe X drops as well.

Top 5 fav albums of '15 were

1. To Pimp a butterfly
2. If you're reading this it's too late
3. B4.DA.$$
4. Tetsuo & Youth
5. Every hero needs a villain

Decent year I think, though 2013 was my favourite so far.

When he released the original EP of the above album people thought it was Nas' underground alias

So... Best Album of 2015? B4.DA.$$

Favourite new artist? Action Bronson, Phonte, Elzhi and Murs

Anyone you have discovered from the past in 2015 that has made your hip hop experience better? Got into 9th wonder produced songs, obviously not all from 2015 but like his style.
Still enjoying what Chance the rapper is doing, he's been doing different things this past year, as in not similar to Acid Rap but he's retained his uniqueness. Released a free album with his band Social Experiment with a lot of Donnie Trumpet, good project.
J.Cole's Dreamville have been slyly dropping a lot of good music last 18 months. 2015 had Cozz & Effect (Cozz's album), and Revenge of the Dreamers 2 (collab with all Dreamville), fans of both works .
Fabolous has released a lot of good material over 2015, his Friday freestyles, recent Summertime shootout mixtape and although technically released in very late 2014, the Young OG Project.
Still a shameless fan of Drake.

Any other thoughts on hip-hop in 2015? Disappointed at Vic Mensa who seemed to mostly release crap stuff, and a few inconspicous features here and there. Chance went up in my estimation after 2014, not Vic

Anything you are looking forward to in 2016 in terms of hip-hop?
Views from the 6
Young OG Project 2
Hopefully more Kendrick and J.Cole chit

Love the new Ye song

Good omens for his album think he said its coming out next month

These new releases sound like his older stuff, production wise especially.

Not feeling Kanye's new stuff. Especially that trash he released before Real Friends (which beat is cool, bars not so much)

More interested in No Parties in LA.

He went mad years ago... Still a good producer though
