One all I'll shut up now.
Yes 2 nil town,I predicted that. Well done lads it sounded great
Big home game Saturday now chaps!
I'll take the victory! It's a good job chesterfield couldn't finish their chances, but overall I'd say we deserved it!
Tez says he's now getting his season ticket again for next season too
Bet he changes his mind after Saturday
How did we play tonight? My car broke down on way to ground so couldn't get there on time..... how we play how we play?????
I say Chaps,
it's all become frightfully exciting,
Where's the brandysnap,
3-7....! too.
And a wonderfull night was had by ALL.
How we play? how we play?
One of the benefits of living in Sheffield... Getting home from an away match at 10pm!
Right, for the benefit of some on here, positives first:
- We started 4-4-2 rather than the 4-5-1 we've played in recent weeks, meaning Rhodes was never really isolated and had Novak and Ward up with him for most of the match.
- I though P. Clarke had a very good game and was probably my MOTM, made some good challenges to get others out of trouble and won his individual battles for most of the match.
- Tom Clarke wasn't as bad as I expected him to be, had a very poor first half but was pretty solid the second.
- Novak played well, did his running and scored a beautiful goal.
- We created quite a few chances because on occasion we got the ball out and got balls into the box (I still think we could do this more).
- We used our subs well, Lee came on and made a huge difference when we were starting to struggle, Arismendi was cool on the ball when he came on and Cads came on to slow the game down near the end.
- We won and kept a clean sheet, that has to be good for confidence.
Now for the negatives and although we won there were a few:
- The midfield 2 still didn't control the game enough, Chesterfield were pretty much always first to loose balls.
- Jordan Rhodes missed a couple of sitters, the match would have been a bit easier to watch had he scored them (he got in the positons though and overall played well).
- Joey Gudjonsson seemed to have been instructed to always hit the ball high to their left back in that corner because although the fans got on at him he continued to do it and Grayson applauded him - odd.
- Jack Hunt had a mare and was definitely the weak link at the back again in the second half, they targeted him and got past him EVERY time.
- We still simply passed the ball straight back to them for most of the second half, when we got the ball down and played it we looked good but again kept hoofing the ball down the field for them to come straight back at us.
- Smithies distribution seems to have gone to pot the last few games.
- Had Chesterfield been any good we more than likely won't have won.
There we go, pretty much 50/50 because although we won we really didn't play all that well. I'll take that though and with Wednesday not winning the table looks a little better. We have to win against Charlton at the weekend though to get some momentum going leading in to the end of the season...
scintillating forward thrusts, Rhodes & Novak, probing like Spartan warriors ...drawing BLOOD.
2 goals delivering a knockout blow, to send their opponents fleeing in disarray. Dejected, confused. bewildered.
Grayson, stood proud, Rhode Island red Kocky . protruding chest, pulsing to the rythem of his all conquering marauders, clockwork in motion.
No respite for the vanquished.
A relentless tide of dictatorship ! Arismendi for Goody, Big Al for Novak & Cadders for Rhodes...
Attack for Attack, chesters misery complete.
Rhodes. acknowledging his legions of admirers, basking in the glory of VICTORY, sweat, sinew & snott the secrets of success.
3 points gained,
marching ever onward.
The Championship trembles.
The Hordes from the Pennines are coming, Whilst the dejected populous at Beeston wail.....
"Oh Lord, protect us from the wrath of the Terriers"
Well. that's the way I saw it Lou
I'll take those lovely 3 points! A load of dirty L**ds fans were laughing at all our draws under Grayson, boasting at how Warnock has sorted their defence! should be a good day at work tomorrow... If they show their faces!
Nothing different in that performance to the last 5.
We weren't laughing, we were sympathising.
Grayson will leave a mess for your next manager, too.
Ah Clive, tell us Town fans what its like to concede 7 agains relegation fodder, for the first time at the skip in your history? Here's to many more!
Ruawharo and Darn unda swam into the net and stole the choicest fish for themselves.
Voluntary Meals On Wheels type work concluded ..
