I'm a great big dirty OOT Irish plastic fan.
I follow Liverpool because of my dad, who is also a great big dirty OOT Irish plastic fan. My mam was a United fan and despised how my dad gave me practically no choice about following Liverpool, so she eventually got him to agree that they'd buy me a Liverpool shirt and a United shirt for Christmas when I was around four so I could decide for myself.
The United shirt never got worn, though; the old man's brainwashing had already taken effect.
Happy weekend Fred, off until Tuesday after today myself!
I support my team because they won the league cup 10 years ago.
My dad was born in Hull, moved to Manchester and he took me to OT when United played Hull in the old second division back in the 70s when I was a wee nipper
United won 2-0 with Pancho getting one so Hull was totally out of the question after that

If I end up marrying my current girlfriend she has agreed that any kids we have will be Liverpool fans even though she's a Real Madrid fan. Result
Growing up I lived just round the corner from Griffin park, could see the floodlights from my bedroom window, so got stuck with supporting Brentford
well basically in 2003 this bloke called Abramovich came along to some rubbish club who I had never heard of. Turns out in 2005 they won the league so I supported Chelsea until 2007. Then I heard of this club called Manchester United who win stuff so I decided to support them but when they didn't win the league in 2010 I got angry and burned my Man U shirt and unliked Man U on facebook. I couldn't be bothered to start supporting Chelsea again but saw that Man City were buying lots of players for lots of money so I thought to myself 'they could win stuff- I'll support them'. I got the shirt and the duvet cover and so on but then they started not winning all the time. I did not want to support Man U again because they lost to this team called Barcalone or something from Italy. I went on holiday to Italy once and Barcelone won a lot of stuff so I decided to support them so here I am today as a loyal Barcelone fan.
I supported Man Utd when they won their first premiership title in 1992 and before then football didn't exit (except when Utd won the European cup in 68'
I knew they would keep winning and when Alex retires, if they don't win for one or two seasons, i'll see how well Chelsea and Man City are doing before deciding which to support from my armchair in Surrey!

To be honest, I've pulled the exact same trick as my dad in bringing up my 3 year old. My girlfriend's a Chelsea fan and she was saying that we should allow him to make up his own mind.
Sadly for her, he's been calling them Yucky Chelsea for some time now. Nothing to do with me, honest.
I like the colour blue and live in Chelsea so I supported Everton.

She's Christian and I'm agnostic so I said that if the kids were Liverpool fans then she could bring them up as Christian as she liked (within reason).
One religion for another
If you are born in Liverpool the first thing that happens is you are dipped in the Mersey if you come out red you support Liverpool, blue Everton. Easy.
oh god the grammar police have arrived
I think ultimately the reason why I support Manchester City is a mix of tradition and because Manchester Central disbanded x
When I was a little nipper in 1964 my friend and his dad were Aston Villa fans. They took me to see my first ever football game which was Liverpool v Villa.
If I remember the score correctly Liverpool won 5 -1. Friend and his dad not well pleased, but you know what it's like when you are 7 or 8 years old, I 'supported' the winning team, so Liverpool gained a new lifelong supporter.
Guess you could say that made me a 'glory' supporter for the past 46 or so years
Been a Chelsea fan since the dark dark days of 2009 where we only won the FA Cup. Luckily for us, we hit the jackpot in 2010 with the FA Cup and Premier League double so Im proud to have stuck by my team through thick and thin. COYB!
