I grew up in Borehamwood and my dad was a massive gooner and i went to my first game aged 4. Have supported arsenal ever since, although i know live in newcastle where the football banter is class
I support Liverpool because i liked Terry Mcdermott's moustache back in the 70's
My cousin (an Arsenal fan) epitomised everything that was cool in the world when I was a kid. So I decided to support Arsenal.
I wasn't really in to football until a few years later though.
First game I ever went to was at White Hart Lane October 11th 1958, I was 8 years old & Spurs beat Everton 10-4............................Sorted!!! I was hooked, my dad was pleased as he was a Spurs fan too!
This is why I'm an Arsenal fan (true story, happened when I was 6)
I saw one of my mates in town, he was wearing an Arsenal shirt with the old badge.
Illiterate me: What does that say?
Friend: Arsenal
Me: Whats Arsenal?
Friend: A football team, or a room full of guns
Me: Wow, cool! Arsenal !
I just did a quick google search
Been a United fan since 1973, no idea why as they were crap and heading for relegation. Saw my first game v Arsenal in 1976 and have been hooked since.
Grandad was Arsenal, Granny was Spurs, Mum was Wimbledon (now Reading), Dad wasn't interested, large section of extended family were Chelsea. Grandad took me to a few football matches. Grandad won Arsenal another fan. Regretted it ever since. Me, not him. He's been dead for almost 30 years.

Why am I a United fan?
Because back in the day all my friends were either Liverpool or Arsenal fans.
It worked out pretty well though as a few years later Ferguson won his first Premier League title and the rest is history
Heute Abend unterstütze ich Chelsea, deal? Wir treffen uns im Life thread?
First time I have signed in from work - too busy.
Anyway I have no real answer for the OP - was born a Liverpool supporter - I genuinely cannot remember a moment when I became one.
Having said that, my son as a youngster supported Derby County, then Newcastle then Oxford. I was quite relaxed about this knowing he would sort himself out. Then when he was 7ish he announced the unnanouncable, so severe reverse psychology was applied by yours truly. Now at 20 he is an absolute Liverpool fanatic - as are both my daughters (despite being born 200 miles from Liverpool). My wife hates all things Liverpool
Deal! Ich vielleicht zuschaut es im Fernsehen so könnten nicht erlaubt, aber viel Il see you there on Blue kenianischen die Partie Faden
not read the comments yet but here are my thoughts...
im a Bolton fan because im from Bolton - they are my local team end of...
im of the impression that anyone who supports man united or another 'successful' club and does NOT live in the town is a GLORY HUNTER...
they always have a great excuse why they are not glory hunters...but at the end of the day - they are.
cut the czap with your 3u11siht excuses...funny how nobody's granddad ever supported someone like Wycombe or Darlington aint it
glory hunters and nothing more... embarrassed to support your local teams because it prevents you from bouncing round pubs belittling REAL fans of the team you SHOULD be supporting even though you have probably never been to the teams ground in your life... sad tw.......ts....
