Melo - cracking response!
Alright, I'm an Arsenal fan who doesn't live in London. By your logic, I'm a glory hunter. - yes.
My question is, why should I care? Because I don't. I really, really do not care that you think I'm a glory hunter. - I dont think your a Glory hunter, I know it. I know that you would have become an arsenal supporter during the 'glory years' I also know that you will come from a town with a team that is not 'that good' so to speak, therefore preventing the aforementioned 'bouncing' round belittling fans of your towns local team...
It chills me how little I care. I can feel myself dying a little inside due to the total, unrelenting apathy I have towards your opinion regarding my passion for the team I support. - the typical overreaction of a glory hunter who is desperate to prove to everyone he has a perfectly legitimate reason for supporting a 'glory' club by pretending hes not actually bothered when really he is... (even though he would give his support serious consideration if they dont finish in a champions league spot and think about buying a city shirt)
...........
can I ask... do you have ANY REAL connection with arsenal? or even London for that matter?
If not...your a glory hunter
Does this also mean Amir Khan is a glory hunter since he doesn't live in Bolton anymore?
.........
no.... hes a Bolton lad born and bred and supports his local team.
to clarify, this means that he is NOT a glory hunter.
Lived abroad till i as 10, by which point i had only seen Singapore national team play man united back in the mid 80s. Arrived in UK and fell in love with the 86/87 spurs team, losing to Cov in cup final Been a follower ever since. Good times we experiencing now
Fred I think it's past Trigger's bedtime, delete his posts so he knows that he isn't wanted The little runt.
no.... hes a Bolton lad born and bred and supports his local team.
But he doesn't live in Bolton so he's a glory hunter, you said everyone must live where they was born or doom falls over. So Amir Khan is a glory hunter Or are you contradicting yourself?

If you really want to know, my mums side of the family are dotted all over London. The ones I liked best (a few aunts, cousins and my gran) lived in and around Archway and Finsbury Park. My cousin is an Arsenal fan which opened the door for me to start following them too.
I never came from a footballing family so I had to discover a passion for the game on my own.
I don't mind being considered a glory hunter. I was 10 when I started supporting Arsenal so their success at the time was probably a factor.
Glory certainly isn't a factor now.
Trigger - that name really does suit you.

your not wanted either...
tell me, did your dad REALLY have job?
delete my posts then OP if you want, you already have, scared of me exposing him for being a glory hunter I think...
to summarise, it makes me really angry that people simply cant support their local teams and go for glory instead... yes, I put my points across angrily because its a subject that makes me angry. but if some do-goody wants to remove me for provoking debate on a debating forum...then go ahead
First of all, Fred thanks for creating this article. 3rd generation Utd fan, mancunian blood flowing through my veins.
Our hatred for Liverpool goes way beyond football
Regarding the Bolton fan, I remember him from the old 606, he is a bitter, bitter individual.
Spare a thought for the people that have to live with him everyday.
I do not care where our fans come from, their support helps make our club the biggest in the one and their support also helps local businesses and the city thrive.
All I can say is thank you.

I've got a birth certificate that states I was born in Wythenshawe Hospital, I couldn't give a monkey's if you believe me or not. Amir Khan is a glory hunter and you seem to ignore that issue
biggest in the world
What was I thinking about
Well, I don't come from a particularly football-loving family, but most of those who are interested in football in my family support Spurs, so being the awkward little that I was, I decided to support Arsenal. However that was way back in 2002, when I was just a kid, and I've since grown to really love the club. Since West Ham's relegation, they've also been the nearest PL team to where I live
delete my posts then OP if you want, you already have, scared of me exposing him for being a glory hunter I think...

No one here is 'scared' of being 'exposed' as a glory hunter.
Forgive me for being slow, but why should anyone care about being considered a glory hunter? Is it a lesser status within our society? Will my gas and electricity be shut off since, as a glory hunter, I am a inferior form of life and undeserving of such luxuries?
I could use a little clarity here.

I do like going to watch my local team when I am back in the UK (either Bournemouth or Southampton) but that's because I love football. My emotions are attached to Liverpool FC and nobody else. An emotional connection is what makes a supporter, not where you happen to live as careers (I presume trigger hasn't got a career) move people around.
This is along the lines of the 'real supporter' threads we used to see a lot of on Beeb606. Quite interesting how some people want to claim football as their own, anyone not fulfilling their own pre-conceptions is excluded from their little 'real fan' club. I take most of these things with a pinch of salt - it's a shame if this Trigger chap real does get 'angry' about such a silly little thing, trust me life will throw some real crap at you from time to time and if you can't control your emotions on a a topic such as this you might find it all too much mate.

I'm going by your logic my friend, you said that anyone who doesn't live in the city of the club they support regardless if they was born there or not it makes them a glory hunter. You clearly made out that everyone should live where they was born, if that happened then multiculturalism would never have happened
Trigger's a glory hole hunter
Because my dad supported them. He supported City because from his house it was one bus to Maine Road, two buses to Old Trafford.
If only he'd lived near a different bus stop, the last three decades would've been soooooooooooo much easier.
This article has made me laugh with its responses from glory hunters...and by the way TRIGGER is 100% right in everything he said. its funny how touchy glory hunters are on here, trying to turn the tables around...just admit it, your a glory hunter.
By the way Trigger did say if you were born in a place..you should support them. Ive followed my team since division 3, hell we were almost down and out but now we're in the premiership and im loving every minute of it. Glory hunters will never feel the same way about winning or losing than what PROPER supporters do...NEVER.
p.s melo you obviously do care about being called a glory hunter...you care a lot ha
anyway any manchester supporter not born in manchester is a glory hunting scoom bag. i dont care if your great grandad supported them...Why didnt he support Bury or someone like that? im sure if he did....well your close cousin supports utd so i do....excuses excuses..
Thankfully I was born in Manchester then
