Inventor, are you Piers Morgan?

We did fantasically to get players like Nasri and Adebayour OUT of the door!! Do Tottenham fans think Ade is anywhere near good enough for them?? No! He's a lanky, idiotic, incosistent, malcoordinated, moody offside moron who has one good game in every 4. He wound everyone up at City, he did the same at Arsenal by trying to leave, and we got £25m for him! That's Fabregas, Wilshere, Frimpong, Coquelin, Van Persie, Sagna and Arteta in terms of transfer fees you mug.

Why would I support United. I'm more of a fan than you coz I don't enjoy seeing my team lose top players and become a laughing stock most times, I bet after the 8-2 game you said 'at least we have the a big stadium' unambitious loser!

You may be right, you might be more of a 'fan' than me, but I'm more of a 'supporter'.

Wow seems like I'm the only fan that wants my team to win a trophy. Well if you can't beat em join em. Wheeyyyy 7th year without a trophy. Yesss we just about fought off Spurs. Lets make it an 8 year drought now boys.. I wonder where Robin will go next aswell, can't wait for the big summer saga, let's develop Jack into a top midfielder to get him prepared for another team wheyyy. Wenger = Absolute Genius. Heyy at least our stadium is good though

100 per-cent

Yes, I am Piers indeed

lets not get personal here, his one of us just mislead and mis educated. dont listen to the media.

yes we haven't wont for 7 years, but that will change soon, we are getting better as team with more experience, less debt and Wenger is showing that his willing to spend the right money on experienced players. Arteta , Met, Podlski.

i beleieve we have the right mix now, with everyone staying on next year and we dont get hit with massive injures.

At the risk of sounding like a Liverpool fan, next year "could" be our year..

Simple question, Liverpool are the most recent winners of a trophy in the country, would you rather be them or us?

Of course Arsenal fans want trophies but you have to look at the context

4th largest wage bill = 4th place

Our young players like Chamberlain, Ramsey, Szczesny, Wilshere have signed new contracts,

Vermaelem, Rosicky vital experience players have signed

RVP is 29 o we give him 5 years or are we better off letting him go at the end of his contract?

Us. I would like us to have the same success as United though who will win the next trophy. They also spent big

In all seriousness, why do you support Arsenal, Inventor? I'm not trying to WUM, I'm trying to understand how you can hate the team so much and claim to be a proper fan.

Can you honestly say you derive no pleasure from doing things "the right way", living within our means, always competing, expanding to a bigger stadium, becoming world renowned for our academy and setting up for a bright future?

If you're old enough to remember us winning things, are you old enough to remember that although we did win trophies, we were never the biggest club in England? We are much closer to being there now than we were then. Sure, we had a top team, but as soon as they went, our assets were minimal. Did you know we couldn't afford Etoo, Ibrahimovic and Ronaldinho when noone had heard of them because we couldn't find a couple of mil?

Whether you like it or not, we can't just spend all our money on big name signings that may or may not do well and win us an FA cup and bankrupt the club. We can't compete with Man City, United and Chelsea financially. We can bring through big prospects like Wilshere and Coquelin and bring in a few good players to suppliment them, but until the inflated market calms down we can't just muscle in on every big transfer.

So either you genuinely don't have a clue as to what supporting a team through thick and thin is all about, or you're a wum pretending to be a gooner in which case I'll feel like a mug for wasting 5 mins typing this out.

UNITED SPENT BIG BECAUSE THEY HAVE 75000 SEATS AND HAVE HAD A MASSIVE STADIUM FOR YEARS AND THEY HAVENT SPENT £350M ON A NEW ONE!!!! you're the best wum ever

What sense would it make letting RVP go for free? Also age is not the biggest issue RVP is an intelligent player who's been compared to the Iceman. Remember he lasted until about 36...

Man Utd are are a bigger club look their sponsorships/commercial deals dwarf ours

To get so much more income/revenue than us they are always going to be favourites for the Premier league

Also bugs me when peeopl go on about budgets

transfers involved 3 parties not 1!

Its not a supermarket where you go and buy what you want

It involves the buying club, selling club and player

If the club doesnt want to sell a player what can you do?

We lost Cesc/Nasri late in the windown because of buying clubs which meant we couldnt buy our first choice targets cause the windown was closing and selling clubs werent going to sell their top players without a replacement

Because of the 25 man squad you have to sell before you buy

RVP has had a terrible injury record

You think he will be playing into his late 30s in England?

Strikers can always be replaced Adebayor scored 20 goals Arsenal are a creative team any decent striker with a run of games will score goals

Doesnt make financial sense to give him a 5 year contract on £100,000+ a week when you take into consideration his injury record

posted on 13/4/12

Well said John. If I were to attack Arsene and the board for not having ambition, I'd say getting us caught up in a 10-15 year deal with Emirates was foolish because that market is now so inflated. We're missing out on lots of revenue there. But I refuse to believe that we had much choice in the matter. If we were offered a better deal we would have gone with it, but we needed the money and we had to take the long term one.

posted on 13/4/12

I'd try and get RVP on a 3 year deal worth around 120k a week because he is a special talent and He'll still be able to do it when he's 32, and after that he can have a healthy pay as you play deal, say £40k/w plus £70k appearance bonus.

I don't hate the team believe it or not. I just hate the downward spiral we are getting into. I hate losing our best players every year, I hate watching Wenger play idiots who cost us big games, Squilacci, Djourou etc.. at the end of the day football has changed with all this money crap and it's about moving with the times.. 5 years ago Fergie would've never spent the money he did this summer but he understands how the game has evolved whilst Wenger is still stuck in his same mindset. If RVP demanded 160,000-a-week to stay then so be it, it would make a big statement of our intentions.

With the emergence of Newcastle, City and even Spurs who will all strengthen in the summer we are in serious risk of falling out the top 4. We don't even need to spend big but bring in the right players and KEEP our current ones, Wenger keeps faith in alot of donkeys who need to leave.

People have this perception ONLY RVP can score goals for Arsenal

There are plenty of strikers out there who can score goals with a run of games

posted on 13/4/12

On the downward spiral - we basically had to become a selling club for 5 years to finance the stadium.

On Djourou + Squilli, 18 months ago we rated Djourou very highly and we thought Squillaci would bring much needed experience to our back 4. He's leaving anyway, and DJ is 4th choice, maybe 5th next year.

On selling key players - did you really expect Cesc to stay?? And we did well to sell Nasri for what we did sell him for considering his contract status. We've also invested that money fairly well imo.

So you guys wouldn't keep RVP by all means necessary? Imagine this season without him?
