If we give RVP £160,000 a week
Wilshere will demand £170,000 a week
Szczesny will demand £170,000 a week
Thats the problem #Wageinflation
Man utd are facing the same problem Rooney is on £150,000 a week
Welbeck is £10,000 a week atm hes negotiating a new deal
I dont think RVP will continue to score goals hes got another 2 years max imo
If we didn't have RVP we would have someone else, inventor. We'd have got Podolski or Giroud or someone. I want us to keep him but if he demands a 5 year contract worth £180k a week, we should either cash in or keep him for the last year of his contract, it doesn't matter!!
I know Cesc would've left eventually but he loved Arsenal and I'm sure if we were succeeding he would've delayed his departure but he had nothing to stay for he even said 'I lost motivation at the club when my team-mates gave up' Yes we can replace RVP but we aren't building a team we are just taking 1 step forward 2 back. Arsene's project needs a player to revolve it round and atm RVP is that man but if we lose him we'll have to start again and go through the same looooong process.
Nasri's contract status didn't have to be a status in the first place. Offer him what he wants and give him assurances that we will progress. Like Ian Wright said Arsenal are allowing players to just leave freely for money or what not and justifying it by saying 'I left to win things'
We didn't give Nasri a new contract because he was crap for the previous 2 years! If we had signed him up and he had continued to be rubbish, we'd be talking about him as though he were Chamakh or Park - a waste of money! We offered him a new contract when he started to look good and he demanded more than he was worth, so we sold him and, lo and behold, he's crap again. For such a dedicated "fan" you don't seem to know much about our current and former players.
I'd love to believe Wenger is changing with all the transfer gossip going on but this Poldi deal is dragging on which is giving me flashbacks of Juan Mata!
If we lose RVP some other top striker will come in and score goals
The way we play and create strikers will always have chances
Nasri's situation was different he left simply because of money
Samir Nasri was laughing at Aaron Ramsey after his miss last week
He was the only City player on the bench joking/laughing about it when the rest were down and out
He doesnt care about football
Podolski's deal is done its only being delayed cause Koln are in a relegation battle
Charlie Wyett The sun journalist went all the way to to Germany to speak with Podolski who btw can speak "Perfect English"
The difference between the Podolski and Mata thing is that the transfer window isn't open yet. If it were, we'd have it tied up. Koln are in a relegation scrap and the last thing they'll want to do is announce that their equivelent of RVP is leaving.
I know alot about our players and Nasri came very young so it was going to take time to get him to his best but we finally did and then lost out. Thierry didn't exactly hit the ground running in his first year but thank god we kept him about. You dumb kid!
WinCollgooner
LOL correct he was terrible from February
Exactly. Arseblogger summed it up nicely - "Nasri proved today that he was no Freddie." in the light of his miss against Bolton. This is someone who is normally loyal and supportive of all our players.
I have never really been a fan of Nasri
Always liked Ramsey more always shown more quality when I have seen him
That game against BVB he was simply majestic in CM
Also, is there a video of Nasri laughing at the Ramsey miss?
Like I said I am with you guys. I don't care about winning silverware anymore, I don't care about keeping our good players, I don't care about watching the likes of Park and Squid get a few games at important times. Lets stop arguing I'm with you guys... after all it has been an amazing season right? Lets get 4th next year guys... would be great. It'd show that we have really progressed...
Ahh your right about Ramsey, I personally think he's world class tbh! Great finisher
Inventor, you're right. There's no point in arguing. You are a and if we can't stop you deluding yourself that we are be biggest club in Europe, I guess we should stop trying.
I'm looking forward to a solid position in the league next year, 3rd would do, and hopefully a good showing in the champions league and a domestic cup. That'd do nicely.
Ramsey will score goals he's 21 can see him scoring 15+ a season and giving 15+ assists like Cesc
Kid has got class great player to watch
And btw I will NEVER stop loving Arsenal! Mug. Just coz I get frustrated and what not doesn't make me a fake fan. I believe Arsenal fans booed Walcott against Spurs but then cheered him when he scored. We all get frustrated. Tough love.

I know where you're coming from with the RVP thing but I'm not really sure it's as simple as that. Wage demands are always going up, that's unescapable. Eventually we're going to have to bite the bullet and pay our top players something closer to the going rate (which is unfortunately skewed by the likes of City and Madrid).
"Some other top striker" is going to demand 100k+ wages off the bat without any guarantee that they're going to fit our system and score goals for us (something RVP has more than proved he can do). It's all well and good saying we create loads of chances so any decent striker will score goals, but that's not necessarily true. The alternative to replacing RVP with a similarly priced player on similar wages (but maybe a few years younger) is to try to do it on the cheap with someone like say Chamakh, and we've seen how that worked out.
Plus RVP is more than a goalscorer, in terms of his contribution on the pitch (assists and link-up play), and the less tangibles like his influence on the other players as a captain and talisman.
And just because he gets a pay rise it doesn't automatically mean everyone else is going to want to get paid the same. I'm sure the players realise how exceptional he has been for us. Who knows, maybe it will motivate them to try to play to a similar standard and earn theirs too? Besides, most of the team are on long-term contracts so they can't just demand a pay rise as soon as RVP gets his.
And aside from all this, the idea of selling our best player at the end of a season AGAIN is more than slightly galling, both for the supporters and probably the rest of the squad.
Podolski can speak perfect English?
I stayed in Koln for about a month, and watched 3 games, the Cologne fans said he was a brilliant player (he does look fantastic in that team) but that he also barely has a brain cell
I hope we don't sell him. I hope we either keep him for the last year or get him to sign. The board say that one of these two is their intention as well I think. He loves the arsenal though, family are settled in London so hopefully he'll stay, unlike Cesc who wanted to go home and Nasri who was a
