But Busby he can't finish chances he needs about 6, Hernandez should start IMO at least he knows where the net is.

Perhaps, but watching the games Hernandez has started the last couple of months, I have noticed two things, firstly, there is no focal point in the attack to hold up the ball, link up the play ect. Secondly, when Welbs has come on for him we look a lot better.

Whilst I agree he needs to improve his finishing, you seem to forget his form earlier in the season, he has it in him, he just need a little confidence. He works hard, makes good runs leaving space for midfielders, he links up with the midfield, he hold up the ball and he has that bit of creativity that can make something happen.

Hernandez is for me, an impact sub, and I don't see him developing further unfortnately. Still a brilliant option to have, don't get me wrong, just doesn't offer enough for an away game where we aren't going to get too much of the ball.

There are no neutrals in football. ABUs all claim to be neutrals. United have had only one red card all season and Rooney hasn't even seen a Yellow. Scholes saw Yellow yesterday for a perfectly legal challenge. He got up and didn't complain.

carrick was booked yesterday for the tackle of the season.

Was that when he kicked Abonglahor in the leg wicked games? I thought that was a stone wall yellow really.

Welbeck's hold up and possessional play is very good.

However I am doubting that he has a 'natural instinct' as to where the goals are. He is also very slow to anticipate openings and get first to 'the bits' in the box. Hopefully he can learn this as he progresses. Slightly concerned about this though. Most top strikers are 'naturals'.

To me it looked like he got the ball. It didn't seem like a stone wall yellow but a 50-50. All I am saying is that his 'can't tackle' reputation goes against him

There's plenty of neutrals, I watched the 2 Semi's and I really couldn't have given a toss who won either.

I find it hilarious that Most City fans are saying that United need to drop only 2 more points, arrogantly assuming that the derby is as good as a City win.

In the 3 derbies this season, United have won 2 of them.

In the last 3 previous league meetings at the council house, City have failed to win any of them and United have won 2 with 1 draw.

Are City capable of winning the derby? Of course.....

Is it a formality? Far from it. We want revenge for the 6-1. The FA cup win went a little way to healing that horrible day. Winning the title in your back yard though will be much better than the 6-1.

I think Fergie will opt for the same more cautious 4-3-3 he deployed in the recent Blackburn game but with slightly different personnel with Rooney playing as the CF. I think it will be along the lines of:-

De Gea
Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra
Carrick Scholes Jones/Cleverley
Valencia Rooney Nani/Young

In all honesty, I thought Schoels got away with murder for 5 or 6 years because people thought he was just a 'bad tackler'. The fact is he can tackle, and he certainly knows what he is doing a lot of the time.

Scholes has the ability to put on such a look of remorse he would probably get away with mass murder if he was in a court of law.

Pls pls if welbeck is fit- start him. We don't want to go into potentially the biggest game of the season with 10 men- chico starting does that. He is best a sub. Also this debate on welbeck and chico is begining to seen like a ronaldo/messi debate- most clear sighted viewers know who is the better player yet some people 'll not let it end. I want us to line up. Ddg. Ferdinard, rafael. Evra. Evans. Scholes, carrick, nani, valencia. Rooney- welbeck. Lets go on all out attack- all this of course is dependent on the games prior to the derby- win against everton and a draw might be ok and in that case- fergie might put park on the left

.........................

It was a 4-5-1 not a 4-3-3. SAF himself said he hasn't played 4-3-3 since Tevez and Ronaldo were in the team.

Neither Young or Valencia played as strikers against Blackburn.

If we get 3 points from the Everton game , should we go there and park the bus ? Will Fergie do it though ?

posted on 16/4/12

No that's a cowardly way of playing football, we need to attack and parking the bus plays into their hands especially at their ground. Norwich did it and ended up losing 5-1

Please park the bus

There isn't one, grated... when it comes to getting stuck in he's a classic combination of rank incompetence and (generally glossed over) spite.

If you want Scott Parker you buy Scott Parker though don't you?

I would like to see the team that played yesterday, except Cleverly in for Welbeck. Cleverly dominated them in the second half of the CS and I think 4-5-1 is almost a certainty.

I would suggest Nani over Valencia as that means Rooney, Young and Nani could all interchange however Valencia is undroppable at the moment so i'd start him.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Parking the bus? Not quite. Playing defensively and on the counter? Most certainly.

City play very narrow at times and our wingers can have lots of joy. This is the way to beat City.

If we try to play through the middle, we'll come off second best. If we can get Nani & Valencia running at their full backs, we'll cause them no end of problems.

I reckon it will end 1-1.

Scholes isn't bad at tackling, any professional footballer who has ever spoken of him has said that he knows exactly what he is doing when he flies into tackles.

Surprisingly, he has never seriously hurt somebody to my knowledge.

posted on 16/4/12

scholes can tackle, he displayed that on several occasions yesterday. he's just snide at times.

id love everton to take a point against united ....
then the derby would be miles more important and more to play for...

They're still trying to find the studs lodged in Zabaleta's thigh.
