where is Saint? is he over here?
gazza. I wont be judging him until he's here. I;m just not convinced. yes Ashley cole got better defensively but he was much better at 23 than VDW is now. also not everyone develops the same way or the world would be jam packed with top class players.
Hopefully he comes in and does great, The scouts and management must see something great in him it's just that I'd have preferred a different player in.

Yeah I definately agree, we also thought the same about Bosingwa and Del Horno and Bridge tho. don't always get it right.
Like I said if he comes in I'm sure he will do well, he just wouldnt have been top of my list of RB targets, even those his age

I was never a Bosingwa fan, he did well at LB against Barca a couple of years back but in general I was never a fan, same with Bridge and Del Horno tbh, especially Bridge, he used to frustrate me so much.
We can only wait and see about VDW and I hope he does well
Back everyone.
Being told that there is still a possible chance that Drogba could move to Galatasaray.
Saint says he prefers SW
I did my french and chemistry exam today, 4 more days now
Been told that Chelsea will make a "take it or leave it" 37M bid for Pastore.

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has denied terms have been agreed for the exit of Guus Hiddink to Chelsea.

If that Pastore offer is true I reckon that they would take it. I;d be over the moon if that happens.
on Hiddink it sounds to me like TFF are trying to get the most amount of money possible. Since Turkey havent been doing great I don;t think they will be all that fussed if Guus leaves.
On another note I find it strange that Gokhan Tore is leaving if Hiddink is coming back, he had him on the bench for the belgium game, he must rate him highly.

Palermo want a minimum of 44M according to there President, so 37M not be enough still.
Zamperini always quotes crazy amounts for his players, he is a bit mad, I wouldnt be surprised if he was realistically aiming to get a bit less for him. He said last year that Cavani was going nowhere and he ended up going to Napoli on loan and eventually permanently.
He quoted 35m for Amauri 2 years back and he went for a fraction of that, same with Makinwa and Barzagli and Zaccardo,
they are like spurs, they will sell.
The markets changed a bit since then though, especially when players have been moving for the prices they have recently.
Any club who has a player who is linked with Chelsea/Real/Barca etc, always want a premium for that player.
37m is a massive premium. I know the market has changed since the Ronaldo/Kaka deals but these players were all in the last 3 years I'm talking about.
the point it that Zamparini always overprices his players and then they end up going for less. the scale now is higher but the facts havent changed. Cavani was only last summer.
But you have to wonder how serious the interest was from clubs such as Chelsea etc when we were linked with him.
As it is now with Pastore he's said there is serious interest from Chelsea and Madrid, and he knows that we will probably end up paying what it takes to get him.
If he wants 44M then i think anything between 37-40M will be the only thing they'll settle for.

37-40 I think will get him as well steve. I was only making the point that you cant take anything Zamperini says seriously, he is crazy and he goes through the same thing with every single transfer.
I don't think we'll get Pastore TBH, as we haven't been linked with him that much and he is very expensive. Reckon he'll either go to Madrid, City or one of the two Milan's.
