Blueb - Yeah i agree, if he wants to stay and can accept he won't be playing regularly, then we should keep him. BUT if he wants to be a regular pretty much week in week out, then we may have to look at letting him go.

I mean if we sign 4-5 players, and also bring in about 3-4 acadamy players, then the squad will be pretty full, and some of those who are used to being regulars, will probably find the chances a bit more limited.

Obviously players such as Lampard/Drogba/Yossi, i don't think will leave this season as they are brilliant for squad depth and experience, and i think that out of the 3 Drogba still has a lot to offer.

Implying Frank doesn't have as much to offer?
I this Lamps has been our most underrated player this season. The abuse he has been getting is completely undeserved. It's almost like he's in an England shirt the way fans are reacting to him.

He was out for basically half the season yet he skill rolled in with a good number of goals. It's a measure of how good he is when all it takes is one average season for everyone to be calling for his head.

Apologies if I did miss-interoperate your post...

Anelka should stay.
He's hardly ever injured. Something we have to worry about cause Torres has a history with injuries

Blueb - I still think he has a lot to offer, but what i ment was that i think Drogba still has more to offer than what Lampard can to our overall performance. Since Drogba was a late developer in terms of football, i still think he can probably go another 3-4 seasons at the maximum. Not always a regular though. Where as i think Lampard can probably go another 1-2 at the very top before taking on a Scholes role.

The injury to Lampard this season, while only his first and a rare one for him, the time he was out with it probably goes to show that age is catching up.

But we also have to look at players like McEachran etc, as he will probably be Lampards main succesor, if we try to squeeze everything possible out of them it just hinders the progress of others.

But don't get me wrong, i still think Lampard can offer quite a bit to the squad.

Poor wording on my behalf!

I'd probably agree with that, just the endless articles that were popping up a month or so back on 606 calling for Frank to be axed and sold did seem pretty short-minded to me.

Frank has to go........

Blueb - Yeah iv'e never agreed with that. I was always against those articles.

Wonder how long it's going to take to sign Hiddink? Dosen't seem as though anything will happen before next week, but i can't see us signing anyone until Hiddink is confirmed.

Haha, don't get me started on the "Fat Frank" brigade.

Hiddink will probably be done in the next two weeks I'd guess. As long as it's done by July I can't really see a problem. It's not as if he's foreign to the club or the club to him and he needs extra time to settle him. He is in regular correspondence with Roman always, as we are told. So I imagine they already have ideas of targets together. The time of the signature is almost irrelevant imo. (providing he does sign, of course.)

On a side note, Zola for his number two please!

If Kaka was to come it's Frank's place in the team he would take.
I think Kaka is more suited to Torres

I think the main concern is that our new signings won't be with the squad before pre season.

Since we have about 2-3 pre season games before the Asian tour then i wouldn't mind if our new signings weren't with us before then, but were with us for the Asian tour.

Sooner the better obviously.

Stan - In the end i think they'll probably settle for 3M and if not i don't think Roman will hang around and will probably pay the 4M, don't think he'll lose to much sleep over it should we get Hiddink.

If it a case of JUST the money, we could probably have Hiddink as early as next week.

Guus usually has his teams very fit.
Will need all the players on the asia tour Steve

I'd like to think that the players we are after, or atleast 2 of them, have already signed deals as such and are just waiting to be confirmed as Chelsea players. That way they can get on the tour.

Gazza - Yeah i don't think all the clubs signings will make the tour, but it would be good if our attackin mid could who ever it may be. Be good to see how he and Torres do.

What reserve players will make the tour?

I'd go with:

Lalkovic/Bertrand/Kalas/C.Clifford.

Think it will be them, but almost certain on Lalkovic and Bertrand.
