seriously how can we still be letting in flights from china, italy and iran?

All flights worldwide should be grounded to a halt for 2 months no travel in our out of any country tbh, but even as a minimum still letting flights in from china, italy and iran is just mind boggling

We shouldn't be letting in flights from the worst hit countries with people who likely have it without even knowing, and telling them to self-quarantine/isolate for 14 days when you can't even enforce it is fruitful

Even today i just went for a drive to get a baguette, there is so many people out and about and over parks, to many people really are still treating this as a christmas or a holiday, ruining it for people like us who just want an hour a day outside to get some exercise etc and bit of food and then are happy to stay indoors like me.

On Friday this situation is going to become really really scary/real for these people who are still taking it as some sort of joke. Beginning friday we're going to start seeing 500-1,000 deaths a day not 500-1,000 cases a day, and cases will probably start to hit 5k-10k a day.

Idiots these people, so a full lockdown probably is needed just because there is so many morons in this country still

temperature checks are pointless though, you can show no symptoms for 7-14 days (Realistically 7-10 days)

But yeh realistically 42 days of hell from today, consisting of 26 days of utter hell from friday. wish we could take a sleeping pill that lasts 42 days

Even when the virus is pretty much over/faded away for us after 42 days and 60 days worldwide, the damage is going to last long and it's going to be a long road. And heaven forbid if the fkin virus comes back again in november/december

Yep the lack of preparation for realistic disaster scenario’s has been shocking. Shouldn’t be happening in this day and age. Shame it has to take something like this for big & valuable lessons to be learned, especially being given a 2 month warning with China. Basically been a case of we’ll worry about it when it’s here, no pre planning whatsoever

to my mind we still having identified the base reason why we had this epidemic in the first place the actual core of the infection

I read things about pangolins civits and bats and the like who carry a similar virus to this but experts can't 100% say that that's where it came from

Coronaviruses have always been there in animal populations as far as we know. Every so often a strain that can affect other animals evolves and if it comes into contact with said animal then it hits their population

100% agree. I'm also concerned that we don't have a solid "exit plan" for the lockdown outside of waiting for a vaccine that may take 12-18 months. In Lombardy they've banned all outside activity (even for exercise). Has anyone even considered the long-term negative health effects of such a policy?
