That's a tenuous link at best. The way CFC are being treated you'd have thought that Roman is side by side with Putin advising him to invade Ukraine. Are Putin and Roman even on speaking terms now ?

Why does it feel like Chelsea Football Club are being made scapegoats for a war happening in a different country that has nothing to do with us?

Our owner is ridiculously wealthy and he's Russian but unless there's something solid linking him to this war and to Putin's actions then I don't see how it can be said that we're bring treated fairly.

Guilt by association .....and let's face it, nobody could forecast geo political events or what Putin would do, twenty years ago, when Roman became involved with Chelsea.

I assume some want Roman to confirm. Putin and the Ukraine invasion, so if he did so, is it all Rosey...even though he becomes a target for the Kremlin?

Yup I'm struggling to believe what I'm seeing at the moment. It's completely disproportionate and one of the biggest overreactions I can remember.

We're an easy target because we're not a liked club by opposition fans and we've never been afforded the media protection that the likes of Utd and Liverpool have.

Exactly, Roman passed all the checks required to be an owner of a football club and continued to pass them until present day. I don't see how they can just suddenly say that he's now unfit to be the owner just because a world leader in another country decided to invade it's neighbour.

If Roman is linked to this invasion in any way or if he's advising or in any way influencing these geopolitical events then the onus is surely on the UK government to present the evidence showing all this.

If not then this is nothing more than a highly publicised witch-hunt designed to make the government look like it's doing something about this war.

The world loves to have a bad guy and bogeyman to virtue signal about now, so news and social media are loving this, while bitter spurs or Liverpool fans have a new stick to wave.

Govt, media, sponsors, rival fans etc knew Roman was a rich Russian, as did Chelsea fans, so the reaction against Chelsea the club and support, is disproportionate in the extreme...

As stated, go after Roman if they wish, if he funds and backs the Russian war effort especially, but separate owner and club-fanbase.

Newspaper and tv headlines directly link Chelsea FC to war crimes and lazy reporting is rife.

I get the Chelsea fans two fingers attitude to critics, but when this is used to attack the club and fans, just rewind and regroup.

There was an article about this on twitter somewhere before saying although they didn't agree with the chanting, it was that defiant attitude that would get the club through this
