Lukaku's attitude must have been awful for us to take a 90m hit without a striker backup
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So glad that mess is gone. Probably 5 points better off already simply due to the morale boost it brings
I’m wondering if they’re spending all the money now because they’re not planning on spending anything for the next 5 years other than on the stadium, and are trying to build a team we can have for the next 5 years with no real investment after this season
E.G get it all out the way now for investors etc
Gallagher would suit playing where Mount normally does in the 343 so just a matter of rotation
I think Havertz has to step up and become that striker for us.
He has talent but only shows it in flashes. He not as lightweight as when he first arrived in the prem, but as Tuchel says, he still doesn't use his frame nearly well enough.
I also rate Broja quite highly and think he could develop into a more typical number 9 than Havertz, though obviously he's quite far from being the finished article.
If Havertz can do what Firmino did for Liverpool, then I'll take that. Around that 12-15 goal mark in the league, start off the press up front.
I don't expect him to be that striker who gets 20 plus goals. We'll just need the rest of the guys to chip in with goals similar to how City do it
It’s true that Broja has a long way to go but he’s very young so there’s no reason he can’t improve while playing for us. Doesn’t have to necessarily learn his trade while on loan.
I don’t want the extra players Barcelona are trying to shift - like Memphis or Auba. I’d prefer Barcelona be stuck with those salaries and be unable to register the players they’ve just bought. And even though I’d quite like de Jong, I’d prefer he stays at Barcelona for one more year just to mess with them.

Lol double what City were offering. Crazy money.
Not a common view but we need Cucurella. Rotating top quality wing backs is a must
I would rather buy Dumfries than DeJong for same reason. Wary of RLC and Azpi being our main backups if James gets injured.
I agree with you NPE - but as we do have both Azpi and RLC I doubt a new right sided wing back will be a priority. I suspect we’ll try to strengthen other areas first.
I can't make predictions with Boehly.
Personally I would prioritise RWB next alongside a CB.
Dumfries and Fofana would be suffice in that sense.
I also recognise however that we also need a long term replacement for Kante and that Havertz as a striker is a risk.
I think however those may be issues we solve next season. No evidence to back that up other than we seem to be keen on Rice and will have to play a waiting game. While there are no top strikers on the market so may have to make do with Brovertz.
One club who have been dealing with Todd Boehly claim they have found negotiations hard. They describe #Chelsea's new owner as wary, always fearing the other party is taking advantage.

The poor basturds been burned three times this summer. I would be wary too.
I’m actually buzzing with £55m for Cucurella as it gives us the best set of LBs probably in the world and it also means Colwill only goes on loan and will be ready to play for us next season, beautiful stuff.
Squad by the end of next summer:
GK: Mendy, *New Keeper*
RB: James, Livramento (buyback)
LB: Chilwell, Cucurella
CB: Koulibaly, Fofana, Colwill, Chalobah
CM: Kante, Kovacic, De Jong, Rice, RLC, Gilmour?
AM/FWD: Sterling, *New Winger*, Mount, Pulisic, Gallagher, CHO
ST: Havertz, *New Striker*, Broja
With the aim of moving to 433/4231.
When asked what #THFC need to do to compete with #MCFC and #LFC, Conte said: “I think you forgot Chelsea. This is a big mistake. You are talking about a team who two seasons ago won the #UCL…Why is #CFC not in this group of top teams? For me Chelsea are in this group.”

You forgot Chukwuemeka

Yeah I was expecting a loan for him tbh. Also wouldn’t sign De Jong if it means taking on his deferred wages. Rather let Barca suffer

Wonder how much extra we paid to keep it at just a loan.

They should be paying us to take him on loan.
Ah King Fretter is here at stupid o clock in the vain hope no one will contest his misery
Ok guys
Ur perdickshuns on whut position u will Finnish in leage thus season?
Top 4:
1 - Liverpool
2 - Manchester City
3 - Chelsea
4 - Spurs
Liverpool won’t be winning the league when they’ve swapped one of their top two attackers for a bum like Nunez.
City 1st comfortably, then Liverpool then us then Spurs. Arsenal in with a shout of 4th if Conte decides to have a meltdown
