Nah Brighton see we’re desperate to sign midfielders. They see our manager begging for reinforcements. They know we over pay for nearly every player. They just got to wait it out and we’ll end up paying whatever they want. They’ve mugged us of before and they’ll do it again.

Considering nobody else appears to want the guy half as badly as we do, maybe Brighton need a reminder they don't actually hold all the cards
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trouble is, w3 don't hold any
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We do though, in my opinion. It seems Brighton want to sell him while his stock is high and nobody else seems to be interested at the prices we're being quoted.
--------------------------------------------------
True, but where we let that leverage slip is Boehly's reputation. Brighton will know they can keep him till deadline day & there's a realistic possibility we'll throw them 90-100mil on a whim even if we don't need him by then.
The best course of action here if we're serious about not having the p!ss taken out of us like all last year is letting him go.
Leicester City are insisting on signing Cesare Casadei on loan. A new request has been made. #Chelsea’s original plan has always been for a Premier League loan. No decision has been made yet.

Chelsea want to add more depth and experience and are considering Tyler Adams who has a clause in his contract, and Edson Alvarez. (@TomRoddy_)
Someone asked for Tyler Adams on here the other day. He's quite injury prone though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, that was me T.J. I read that Tyler Adam’s had a release clause of £20M or something, which is an absolute steal. I think he’s very underrated. He has a lot of energy - covers a lot of ground behind the midfield. And at 24 years old he’s also had excellent World Cup experience - he is not daunted by the big occasion. He has had some injury issues though, so that could be a weakness. Otherwise I can’t see a reason not to buy him at £20M.

Are you not happy with any of our transfer business then Biggish? Jackson looks top drawer up front and the signs look very promising from Nkunku too. Gusto looks good at RB. Preseason has been a great success so far as well on the pitch, the team are playing with some real fluidity and intent for the first time in a long time. I'd say there's much to be optimistic about.
Adams would be a squad filler signing. 100% sure we’d sign another one or 2 midfielders.

Too early to tell. The season hasn't started yet. Truth is we are totally an unknown quantity, but with an injury depleted and injury prone defense and nowhere near enough midfielders
We'll we've just signed/about to sign Disasi to cover for Wes Fofana so that's a start for defensive cover. Colwill about to pen a new six year deal and will be in the squad for this season.
Looks like Maatsen is staying too who can play LWB so seems like defence would be fairly well covered. New goalie incoming as well.
And if we sign Tyler Adams he can also play RB/RWB so that would cover us in that position if Reece James gets injured for a lengthy spell.

I’ve been a bit confused by our targets too. I had originally thought we were going after Caicedo AND Lavia, but now it seems like we are looking at defensive midfield options only as an alternative to Caicedo. Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought Caicedo was more of a box-to-box player rather than an out and out defensive midfielder. I have no idea what Pochettino wants to do with Caicedo of course. Maybe play two number 6s with Enzo, allowing them to take turns going forward while the other defends?
FYI Caicedo played right wingback for Brighton a number of times last season too.
