I agree with you (again). Brighton promised Caicedo they would let him leave this Summer, and I suspect they will honour that, although they are still going to negotiate the best fee they can. I think they rejected Chelsea’s £75M +£5M bid, and I’m guessing they will accept the next one if Chelsea do bid again. But all this behind the scenes haggling by Chelsea management has cost Caicedo a pre-season with Poch. How much would that have been worth?

If we can’t get a midfielder I’d move James into midfield.

Santos is the only one I can see playing in those deeper midfield positions. But he’s very raw. I like his positivity on the ball but I don’t think I’ve seen him win the ball back without giving away a foul. Gonna get a lot of yellow cards.

Supposedly there is a sell on fee for Caicedo that Brighton will have to pay, in which case over-valuing Sanchez makes sense.

Could maybe see deals worth £100m-ish overall for both players but Sanchez making up a much larger portion than he is actually worth in order to save Brighton some of the sell on.

Otherwise our interest at the supposed fee makes no sense imo.

I'm looking at this as Lukaku will be out. Looks way more appealing when you frame it like that

Another striker wouldn't go amiss either. Good as Jackson looks we need three (including Borja) to avoid any temptations turning Nkunku into Havertz by shunting him up front.
