I think the manager was more than good enough for us for the current level this team is at. Should’ve given him another year and then binned him. Now it feels like a restart to the same project with a different manager. Stability was key. Would’ve been nice to have a quiet season without looking like a clown show. Everyone outside the club is laughing at us.

I think he persistently struggled to control games and we were lucky to finish 6th.

I wouldn't have sacked him because I like to give managers time and think a premium exists for continuity with these players.

But it's really no travesty he's gone and it shouldn't be the main variable dictating your aspirations next season.

Yeah I’ve said it before some people are acting like we’ve sacked prime Jose. I would’ve given him another season but feck it let’s enjoy the Chelsea circus.

Btw his Spurs team never really controlled games. It was end to end stuff. Difference is they had some very good defenders that didn’t have brain farts like our lot every other game. What I’m saying is the owners should’ve known what they were getting.

Best time to play them tbh. Had just celebrated a hard fought title win so players probably weren't at their sharpest

Well we didn't look we'd be in a European position for most of the season so it's better than nothing.

Some form of European football will be good for this squad if they can cope with the extra fixtures

As long as we sort the injuries this should be a good thing imo. Extra competitive games should only benefit us

What is the new Conference League format?

The biggest change is to the group stage, which will become a single 36-team League stage. Each side faces six different teams (three at home, three away). The top eight overall advance directly to the round of 16; sides finishing from ninth to 24th will contest the knockout round play-offs, with the victors going through to the last 16. From then on it is a straight knockout.



Conference League 2024/25 scheduleWhen are the 2024/25 Conference League qualification rounds?

First qualifying round: 11 & 18 July 2024
Second qualifying round: 25 July & 1 August 2024
Third qualifying round: 8 & 15 August 2024
Play-offs: 22 & 29 August 2024



Stadion Wrocław in Poland will host the 2025 final, which will be played on 28 May 2025.
