Chelsea will be patient with Maresca and are willing to allow time to implement style, such is the length of his 5 year contract

Enzo Maresca will sign 5+1 year deal at Chelsea FC. It’s agreed, “HERE WE GO” (@FabrizioRomano)

No 8 year contract!! 🤦‍♀️

No chance in hell he stays for 5 years. Hope they have a clause to reduce compensation when they sack him before then.

Tosin Adarabioyo as a potential signing

haven't seen a lot of him but any thoughts on him to enlighten me?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would be good for free and relatively low wages. 6'5 and valued quite highly by Fulham fans.

Tosin has won more defensive duels (67.37%), interceptions per 90 minutes (1.5) and clearances per 90 minutes (4.99) than all of them, and he also has more headed clearances per 90 minutes (3.33) than any other centre-back in the Premier League to have played more than four games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Chalobah replacement. Silva replacement next.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is he decent with the ball at his feet as well?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Idk. All I know is we wouldn’t go anywhere near him if he wasn’t available for free. I think he’s a squad filler at best.

It's frightening how little this lot learn. It'd be funny if it wasn't so tragic

I want to be positive but we've quite literally run this exact same race with Potter.

Doesn't matter how long his contract is, if he's bottom half of the table come spring and the team isn't scoring then he's gonna be pushed out one way or another

I guess main upside to this appointment is that our sporting directors will live or die by it. If it fails - then they should be following Maresca out the door.

Yeah it's Stewart and Winstanleys' heads that will roll if this appointment doesn't work. We'll put their heads on spikes outside Stamford Bridge lol

Will be interesting to see what happens. Clearly the traditional manager role is no more at Chelsea and we just have a head coach responsible for training the squad of players he's given to work with and overseeing matches. Everything else including transfers and what players we bring in or move out is someone else's job and responsibility.

Chelsea’s players are excited about Enzo Maresca. They believe momentum is on their side and 4-3-3 should favour the squad. (@JacobsBen @caughtoffside) #CFC

Chelsea feel they have got an incredible manager. The ownership have always looked to the early days of Mikel Arteta, and the patience shown to him, and have even watched Amazon’s ‘All or Nothing’ documentary. (@JacobsBen) #CFC

He should suit most players we have in the squad. It's a definite reprieve for Raheem Sterling who knows Maresca from their City days together and who should suit the possession based football.

But we should in theory see the best of Enzo and Caicedo in midfield in this new system which was definitely a criticism of the Poch era, especially in the first half of the season when Caicedo was playing as a DM and Enzo at times as a 10. Something that didn't work.

It's also good news for Cucurella who should continue to thrive in the inverted fullback system where he can continue to get more involved in the busier central areas of the pitch.

Everton wanting a fee of between £60-80 million for Jarrad Branthwaite. United after him but have already said they won't be held to ransom with fees like that.

So we will pay it I'm guessing 😄

We'll be doing an All or Nothing type documentary within the next few years, you can bank on that.

It's easy money + another opportunity to control the narrative which they just love to do. Just waiting for the most opportunistic time to do it.

Well, if they have watched a documentary on Amazon I’m confident they have nothing left to learn. Full steam ahead - nothing can stop us now…..

Colwill definitely has a future under the new coach but not sure about Badiashile or Disasi. Especially Disasi. Think we could see one or probably two new CB's brought in. Wes Fofana doesn't even count at this stage.

I’m not sure how we become a possession based team. I feel like most of our players love playing at 100mph.

Anyway we have a much better and younger squad than Leicester. Let’s hope the new manager doesn’t take 6 months to implement his playing style on these lot.
