The board clearly hoping for an Arteta style
Which is fine his arsenal team are very good but it took him 2 seasons
We can't afford a backwards step
McKenna and de Zerbi were the only semi-sensible choices out of the options available. We needed a manager who could mix possession-based football with a direct approach. Maresca's Leicester were essentially a poor man's City last season - they progressed the ball far slower than any other team in the league and frequently came unstuck against low blocks
5 years can't be right. I thought it was two years with an option for a further three years should he last the first two years.
Starting to look like management don't actually care about a managers underlying numbers - they just want someone they can talk numbers
Agree he has to hit the ground running. We were patient with Poch and it took a long wait before seeing proper improvements. That was a big argument for sticking with him. Even with Potter we were finally seeing some improvements just as they axed him, and had to wait a long time to get going again.
We can’t go back to square one and have to wait a while for the manager to learn what team to play.
Leicester must have come up against plenty of low blocks in the Championship, especially against lesser teams.

5 year contract wtf. These owners/directors are insane.
🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea have made a contract offer to Tosin. (@SkySportsLyall) #CFC
So many wanted Poch out over the season though. You have to reap what you sow. We had a top class manager who would have done well next season. Now we have a lot of uncertainty and are gambling on a largely unproven manager with potential.
Tosin expected to accept Chelsea offer

And the patience was reaping dividends before they then unjustly sacked him

Made a cup final, a cup semi final, top 6 in the league, with a young team fully of injuries all season
That’s a top class manager
What Poch done with cucurella the last month too was amazing, the inverted wing back role. Madueke Caicedo massively improved too and Petrovic in first proper season. how great he did with Gallagher and Palmer and Gusto too
Personally think Poch is world class, sewed so many seeds for us to be great next season
And the owners just burned it all down with their arrogance

Yeah not a sacking a new manager by Christmas isn't an achievement, especially with a massive injury crisis. And we've been top four form since Christmas anyway.

Weren't you calling for his sacking and mourinho's return literally 3 weeks ago
Poch was never the right choice long-term, if we wanted to win titles he was always going to be a stepping stone along the way imo.
But perfectly valid to question whether now was the right time to sack him particularly for a near novice manager.

About 3 months ago cos we was $hit and rightly so but the last 2 months we really turned a corner
And I’ll always be quietly calling for mourinhos return regardless who manager is

Yeah I don’t understand what’s so funny. Tell me when I’m telling lies.
The point is he did not start well but the people in charge did not sack him, and then things got a little bit better. That’s called being patient. Roman would have gotten fed up before 2024.
