Maresca won’t change his approach. He does have subtle variations, but there will also be one main striker, one holding midfielder with a full-back playing inside and two wingers. It is his way and he believes in it wholly. (

Sounds alright to be fair
Could be the next pep, could be the next potter. Rather him than de zerbi
Maybe he’ll view Winstanley and Stewart as Pep worked with the two Barca DOF’s that moved to city
Great record with Italian managers too
Winstanley and Stewart have built up an instant rapport with Maresca. He passed data analysis and background checks, is viewed positively for working under Pep Guardiola and had knowledge of the Chelsea squad. (
@NizaarKinsella
Chelsea have studied how Arteta eventually thrived after leaving Guardiola’s staff and hope Maresca can flourish in the same way. (

The idea that proximity to pep is a significant factor in our club’s selection is incredibly off-putting to me.
Just because Arteta turned out decent doesn’t mean that every pep assistant is a great manager in waiting. Stinks of fallacious decision making.

Get ready for months of "trust the process".
Can see the bridge getting extremely toxic if things go sideways. I'm not sure the owners realise how little goodwill they actually have at this point.

Yup. Very naive to think things translate 1-2-1 in football - Arteta had a particularly rocky period with Arsenal before their improvement. I'm unsure he would've made it through that if it wasn't for his existing connection with the club.

I’m all in.
Chelsea have drawn up a list of goalkeeper targets that they will explore going into the summer transfer window, with Robert Sanchez likely to be sold.
JamesTrafford - Burnley
Aaron Ramsdale - Arsenal
Andriy Lunin - Real Madrid
Caoimhin Kelleher - Liverpool
Jordan Pickford - Everton

Fiorentina/Torino could go into the play off round with Chelsea, depending on the result of the final
So Maresca worked with Palmer and Lavia when he was at Man City.

🚨 Enzo Maresca has informed Leicester City of his desire to join Chelsea. Maresca’s staff is also being discussed in club-to-club compensation talks. (via @FabrizioRomano)
🚨 🤯 Chelsea are expected to agree on a contract with Maresca for a length of a minimum of 5 years. (@David_Ornstein)
🚨 Chelsea hope to appoint Maresca in the next 72 hours. Maresca wants to bring 5 staff with him. Caballero is expected to be one. (@SamiMokbel81_DM) 🔵🇮🇹
How many years do we reckon he lasts out of 5. My guess is 1 max
These guys are either insanely arrogant... Or just plain insane

1 year - and he'll only make it that far because the shame of sacking him mid season will be too much for management
Worrying thing about that contract length is that they've backed him so hard, I can easily see them allowing us to fall back to Potter levels (and worse) just to save face.
Makes a change from 8 year contracts lol
Well he quite frankly has to hit the ground running
The fact that he's worked with palmer is a good thing as he will need our star player on his side
The board now can't afford another poor start to a campaign after poch improved results and got us I to Europe
For marescas point of view, he's had a touch he should bring home a European trophy and qualify for the europa league in his first season
His style of play however will struggle against low block teams and I can see us struggling for goals and being suckere punched
Poch got over this with his high energy direct attacking playing which klopp had some success with
