When Enzo Maresca gathers his new Chelsea players together for the first time at the club’s Cobham training base, it will all be about “the idea”.
This “idea” is a world of inverted full-backs, total domination of the ball, tiring opponents mentally and physically, ruthless breaking of lines and overloads. He will immediately outline his philosophy to his new squad and demand bravery and commitment. He will make it clear that mistakes are part of the process.

Yeah man, about 80% of the time I have spent thinking about football over the last 2 years has not been happy.
I think it’s the stupidity which makes me mad more than like a lack of talent.
Chelsea have been won over by Maresca’s detailed plans for Enzo Fernandez. Maresca was understood to present multiple set up shifts that he believes would get the best out of Enzo Fernandez. (@NickPurewal) #CFC

The PR campaign around this appointment is going to be on another level. I think they recognise how little the fans rate it.
Enzo Maresca will be content working under the current structure at Chelsea, where he can devote all his time and energy to his players and the training ground culture.

Infinite Athlete will be #Chelsea's front-of-shirt sponsor during the pre-season tour of America. Discussions remain ongoing over what on-kit branding they will have for the 2024/25 season.

I remember when CSTP used to be a cheery fence sitter, Chelsea's decline has soured his outlook on things.

Enzo our new Torres lol.
In fairness Enzo should thrive under Maresca playing MarescaBall but time will tell. Here's an explanation of MarescaBall by the New York Times of all places lol:

Incoming coach Enzo Maresca will be given time and patience as long as he produces a "base-level performance" and does not "rock the boat" too much with the club's hierarchy. (@NizaarKinsella @BBCSport) #CFC
Chelsea delegation have arrived In Marbella and talks are progressive well with Maresca. (@SkyKaveh) #CFC 🔵🇮🇹

Tosin Adarabioyo as a potential signing
haven't seen a lot of him but any thoughts on him to enlighten me?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would be good for free and relatively low wages. 6'5 and valued quite highly by Fulham fans.
Tosin has won more defensive duels (67.37%), interceptions per 90 minutes (1.5) and clearances per 90 minutes (4.99) than all of them, and he also has more headed clearances per 90 minutes (3.33) than any other centre-back in the Premier League to have played more than four games.

Very welcome
🗣️ @GuillemBalague on Enzo Maresca:
🔷 Enzo requires empathy, understanding and human relationships…
🔷 When you get an offer from a European cup winning side (two actually), you’ve to think what is my profile right now in the eyes of the industry...
🔷 The main reason why Pochettino left is the difference with the owners sometimes works against the coaches...
🔷 Enzo is the kind of guy that is going to convince people to play in way, that is not far from the way Pochettino played - high tempo, pressure high…
🔷 He will be pleased that there is a hierarchy. There is a role for the head coach and that is he happy with the role as long as there are people around him with quality, elite people that want the same as him...
🔷 Enzo doesn’t want a club that wins absolutely everything but wants one with stability and puts to practice his ideas...
🔷 Exciting times for Chelsea. You will fall in love with Enzo. You will find an interesting guy with depth, somebody who is reserved in the beginning but you will want to be part of his journey…
🔷 Everyone around him will have a lot of quality - physical side of things, goalkeeping - Willy Caballero is his assistant, the analysts are full of energy and roaring to go. His family will be happy to stay in England.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being upset by the club’s decision making. Ultimately us fans are the ones who suffer as a result of it. It’s not good for mental or emotional well being.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Does it actually affect your mental and emotional wellbeing?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For brief moments yes. Anger, disappointment, disillusionment, frustration, etc etc
Fans are emotionally invested
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Most of the time the disappointment anger and frustration are gone at the end of the game when I go and do something else. Been a long time since I got really upset over football personally. Everyone different though.
Why are we playing Real Madrid and Man City in preseason ffs? Two games we'll probably lose and then start the PL season on a low.

Look, did we want this guy as fans? No
But how about we actually give him a chance and get behind him instead of writing him off and being negative from the outset
This is why our fanbase is becoming so fackin $hit, we moan about the owners and the players and the manager, but we as fans need to look at ourselves in the mirror because we’re contributing by being so fackin $hit and pessimistic
----------------------------------------------------
Sh!t owners do this. Create little civil wars amongst fans who start blaming each other.
As football fans go, I think Chelsea fans (generally speaking) are some of the most realistic & well adjusted among the top clubs in England. Which is amazing when you consider we're all plastic wh0res are all

We are gonna be bored sh tless watching Chelsea next season
-----------------------------------------------------
Depends how much risk Marseca thinks is acceptable balancing out the need to dominate the ball. Inverted full backs (in theory) mitigates the risk as it's defensively sounder & Curcuella's proven he can do it. James should be able too as well, not sure about Gusto.
