Maresca worked under a transfer embargo at Leicester and would have no issues working in Chelsea's transfer structure

I really hope the process was more involved than who's closest to Pep.

Super unenthused by this appointment. Would not be at all surprised if it all goes pear-shaped next season.

If Arteta had the same 1st season he had at Arsenal with us, these owners would have sacked him.

Chelsea also impressed with Thomas Frank, the structure at Brentford is similar to Chelsea and he works well within that. They are also impressed with his character and handling of the media, no negative attention drawn to his name

Feels like the club is run by a bunch of hipsters who want to prove that they know their football better than everyone one else and can create the next Pep lol.

Maresca may well turn out to be a brilliant appointment. He probably suits our squad better than any of the other managers on the list. But the risks are huge, especially with his £10 million release clause.

Someone like Amorim would have made so much more sense to me. Wouldn't be surprised if we turn to Amorim as our first choice if Maresca doesn't work next season.

Yup Arteta was a borderline embarrassment and laughing stock for the first couple of seasons. Obviously he got things right in the end as he was given time.

Ikr he plays completely different football to the possession based football the owners are after. Basically the owners are after a yes man no matter what type of football he plays.
