The biggest black mark against Poch is not playing Maatsen in his actual position once.

I doubt it’s an issue of quality because Dortmund love the guy.

Yeah he's been excellent for Dortmund in his proper position this season. Imagine if we'd played Maatsen at LB instead of all those times where Colwill was played at LB. Definitely Poch's biggest failing and probably one of the main reasons Poch isn't here as we'd have finished higher in the table. Very stubborn choice from Poch.

And not saying that Maatsen is Messi or some shlt but he's a very solid LB and he would have provided the balance and attacking prowess down the left flank that we so desperately lacked with Colwill at LB.

And no disrespect to Colwill, he's an excellent CB. But he shouldn't be playing LB unless others are unavailable.

Maatsen may have improved us or we may have dragged him down to our level

Yeah it was pretty frustrating watching Colwill at LB
