Great finish - worth at least 70million! Come on get ya bids in people!

I hope they got their bids in before the goal was disallowed

That was harsh, accidental and doesn't change the ball in anyways.........bad reffing imo
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Plus the fact the defender was fouling him forcing him off balance. Really poor decision imo

On the plus note - love the ball heart beat

Lukaku must be the unluckiest player - who would want to buy that?

Perfect Chelsea player.

Yeah - I think we’re stuck with him forever.

So are Belgium bigger flops than England, some fabulous players over the last 15ish years and barely past the 1/4s?

They’re not out of the tournament yet. But yes.

The only tournament where they truly bottled it was losing to Wales at Euro 2016. And that was partially because their manager was a fraud.

In every other tournament from 2014 to 2021 they reached a stage reflective of the quality of their squad.

Their golden generation was already gone by the last World Cup

They just said this was the biggest upset in European Championship history. Is that right?

England losing to Iceland is up there

So I can't see England going far unless Southgate had the balls to play Bellingham as an 8 and play Foden or Palmer as a 10 with Gordon out wide.

I feel like that would restrict Bellingham too much. But the alternative midfield options are not great anyway so may as well yolo and try to outscore opponents.

It would restrict Bellingham in scoring goals, but not his overall impact on the game. And we would have a fluid attack

Yep,with Palmer of the bench. Use the squad and talent.

Might be a bit too open against better teams, the defence isn't the best hence why he likes two players sitting in front of them.

Just fed up with being bored shtless watching us play. Especially when we have so many great attacking options. Just go for it

It’s a fair point that if the defence isn’t that strong anyway maybe we should try to get more out of our attacking talent. It would be fun to see at least.

Bellingham has played in those deeper positions before. Won’t have to worry about missing out on Bellinghams output as Foden has produced better numbers then him this season.

It's typical England though, trying to shoehorn all our supposedly best players into the same side lol.

I guess in terms of rankings. Belgium #3 in FIFA rankings (#2 in Europe), Slovakia #48.

I think this is plan B if we’re chasing the game. I can’t see Southgate ever starting with this team.

Personally I like the idea of playing a left footed player at left back (call me crazy!). That might give Foden (or Gordon or Eze) some overlapping support, and allow him to come inside,

Anyway Kante in action next. Most football I’ve watched in a long time.

In the previous games:

- Mudryk was rubbish
- Lukaku’s link up play was good but really should’ve scored a couple in the first half.
- Everton’s Onana is rubbish. Awful on the ball.
