Wouldn't it be grate if all these alleged wonder kids we've signed amount to little while Pedro Lima ends up being the new Neymar.

Not for me. Gave the ball away indangerous positions, tempo too slow, I couldn't see anything that justifies him playing there tbh.

I’m with you SWTN. TAA is a great player, but for Liverpool he plays at RB and strolls into midfield when there’s lots of space ahead of him. He’s not actually a midfield player, so he’s learning the role as he goes - and the Euros is not the best place for that. Under pressure he coughed up possession in dangerous areas, and didn’t get the kind of space he’s used to so his long passes were wayward. Not sure he’s quite ready for a midfield place.

I think Neymar did as well as he could've looking back. Didn't f*ck up his career & potential nearly to the degree Robinho did (even without his conviction), which was always his comparison point from a young age.

He even made the same mistake Robinho did of ditching Spain for the new money project, but did it later & looking back was it even a bad decision? Barcelona became a basket case immediately & PSG were the only club who'd have paid that release clause. I thought he was a fool at the time but now think he made the best of a bad hand.

Think Superb said we'd be cheaping out on a striker, looks to be the case.

I think the club are happy with Jackson and don't want to ruin his development so I believe we'll just be signing someone to compete with him rather than replace him.

Can't agree - his ceiling was so high, but his ego was bigger. Of course some of the injuries didn't help, but clearly he was there to make money and not play football which is a shame as if he had 1/10 the dedication of CR7 he would have been up in the GOAT category, massive waste of talent

Oh he definitely went from the wrong reasons, that whole out of Messi's shadow thing was horsesh!t, but with hindsight I can't say he made a mistake leaving Barcelona. And I certainly can't say he made a mistake joining them in the first place, it was the right move for him at the time & he did the right thing by waiting for it (plenty of players jump in too quick).

Even discounting well known failed prodigies like Quaresma, Saviola & even Robinho, he still did pretty well by himself coming close to teenage expectations. Most people see him in the high end of that elite B tier bracket with guys like Suarez, Griezmann, Hazard, etc... not bad son.

If Neymar wasn't Brazilian, and thus wasn't carrying the next Pele burden, he might've turned out a little like Hazard. Just happy making defenders look like chumps & not giving af about personal accolades like the Ballon D'or.

Only football can be f*cked up enough that ego without expectation can be seen as refreshing

There’s something off with that. Even by Atletico’s standard that’s ridiculously cheap. Maybe £16.8M plus Omorodion? Otherwise it just doesn’t make sense.

Now they can tell their fans that they're bidding for desirable players but there's no value in the market.
