England showing why Palmer's gunna be their tournament MVP for the next 10+ years.

It might just be an England thing (like the Spursy virus), but Palmer's calmness & composure will make him stand out SOOOOOOO much in this kit!

I’m trying to think of an England player who played well

Southgate is political - Palmer has to wait because he's the new boy, so slop starts and comes off bench before him.

I am quite glad Palmer isn't going to be associated with England when they play this badly tbh.

To be fair, Bowen played really well when he came on against Serbia. He’s probably first choice sub for Saka. Eze or Gordon on the left for Foden. Trouble is, I think Southgate is scared to take off Bellingham. But Bellingham was awful today.

He can then make bursting runs from deep

But if Soutgate can't see that Palmer is an X Factor player he must be football dumb. He is without doubt the player you bring on if you need to turn a game

Bell8ngham is the best number 8 in the England squad and Foden is just as good a 10 as Bellingham.

That will give us so much more balance and allow Palmer to be the natural back up to Foden.

I’d like to see Southgate try this at least, but he’s just so conservative. Much more likely to stick another defensive midfield player in there and shunt Foden back out left. I can see him playing for a draw, even against Slovenia

Listening to Southgate just then. I think that's the end of the TAA midfield experiment

I know Bellingham is versatile but I still don’t like the idea of him as an 8 knowing he is literally probably the most in form no.10 / forward in the world right now.

I think he'll play Mainoo there v Slovenia.

Don't see him playing Bellingham and Rice as a double pivot

I agree. Both great players, and you’ve got to choose who is going to be #10 because they can’t both play there. But clearly shunting Foden out left isn’t working, so he’s should either drop Foden (for Gordon or Eze), or pull Bellingham back to an 8 and play Foden in the middle.
