a sensible decision would be binning Sterling off the wage bill

Definitely.
I am quite glad that we didn't get Olise, even though he's a good player I just don't think we needed him.

In an ideal world yes but Sterling is going to hang around like a tough skid in a toilet bowl. No way he's getting even half of the 300k per week wages we pay him anywhere else.

Yeah that's true, the only way is if Maresca tells him that he's not in his plans and that he won't be named in the squad after the transfer window shuts.

We're clearly being used by these owners as a way of buying players to then make a profit on them later on. They don't care about improving the team. Doubt we see much if any CL under this ownership. Very concerning indeed.

For all the circus and chaos of the Abramovich ownership at least the primary aim was always for us to be as best as we can on the pitch. The same can't be said for Clearlake. Certainly not now anyway that Boehly has been moved to the side with Egbhali now running the show.

In all honesty, I've completely checked out for silly season. With these owners it's extra silly - doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason behind our targets this summer outside of their potential resale value. Not worth getting worked up about tbh

This needs to be tested before drawing a definitive conclusion, Palmer will probably provide such a test soon. The funny thing is if that is the intention, we're not even doing that right

It's buy low & sell high, not buy high & sell high.

🚨 Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are the 3 Premier League clubs keeping a close eye on Nico Williams who has a €58m release clause in his contract (via @FabrizioRomano)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought we’d already tried to buy Nico Williams but his wage demands were too high. It actually makes more sense buying a left winger than a right winger - as Madueke and Palmer are much better than Sterling and Mudryk. But it makes even more sense buying a goalkeeper, centre back or striker.

Do you remember when we had a strong spine to our team?

As a former fund manager who had to meet a certain balanced risk criteria to my portfolio mix, our owners appetite and attitude to risk is fecking insane.

Aaron Anselmino has been the subject of an official offer to Boca Juniors, reportedly worth between £12m-£15m. The 19-year-old centre-back would likely move on loan from Chelsea to partner club Strasbourg. (via @NizaarKinsella) via BBC Sport

This is why I'm not convinced their main motivation is turning profits through player churn, if that were the case how they've gone about thus far just isn't practical at all.

It's more believable to me that they want to increase the value of the asset through improved branding & on-field success, and they genuinely believe taking a net to all the best young players in the world is the best way to do both those things. Maybe it's more feasible in American sports? I dunno.

I think he'll be a decent signing but isn't he a bit injury prone?

How much is David available for ? I heard about £30 million before.

Seems like he'd suit Maresca Ball as a 9 than can also drop deep and play. Competition/backup for Action Jackson.

Just happy we’re linked to a striker that’s played more then 10 games.
