If not Carsley, I thought it'd be Howe or Potter.
-----------------
Howe is at Newcastle and there would need to be a big payout to get him. Potter could happen but he wouldn't exactly be walking into the job on a high off the back of what happened here.

Also not sure either are anymore qualified than Carsley who already has a fairly considerable amount of international football experience, albeit with the U21's. And international football is a slightly different animal in terms of how games are played, preparing players etc. The differences might be subtle but they definitely exist.

Obviously Carsley could fall flat on his face in these upcoming games in which he wouldn't get the job lol. But assuming he does well enough I think the FA go with him full time in March or whenever his interim deal ends.

My take on last night

Disasi and Bads are horrific, they are slow and their build up play is awful.

Veiga again was great. what a buy that is, well done scouting team

Shout out to casadei looks a real player id like to see him rotated in for enzo. He is up against lavia though

KDH, busy strong on the ball, another good showing from him.

Mudryk - i think he needs to go back to basics, their is a player there and if maresca can continue to work with him it will do us all good. decent performance.

Neto, pushing for a start imo, would like to see him in for mads on Sunday.

Nkunku, clinical dont expect anything more forma lone striker - pushing for a start

felix, quiet work to do but another fantastic player on his day.

My MOM was veiga going under the radar, he has a bit of everything

I like your positive attitude, Mons, but I’m not sure I agree. Outside of Veiga (who just got called up to the senior Portugal squad!) I don’t think any of yesterday’s players are ready for the first team.

Jorgensen - who knows, he really wasn’t tested. I hope he can step up soon though as Sanchez is a liability.

Tosin is the best of the centre backs and provides good backup. Badiashile and Disasi are useless.

Casadei - I thought he was disappointing. Poor touch frequently let him down. He’s big and strong and wins headers, but that’s the best I can say about him.

KDH - he gained in confidence as the game went on, and I do believe there’s a decent player in there. He attacks the box and offers more of a goalscoring threat than Enzo, but I don’t think he’s got that confidence or swagger yet. Decent backup though.

Neto flits in and out, but his speed will create chances. Again, decent backup to Madueke.

Mudryk looked better than he has for a while - less out of control. But he’s still not nearly as good as Sancho.

Nkunku - he is always liable to score so he’s dangerous, but I was disappointed with his hold up play. Not strong enough to start as leading striker. Decent backup.

Felix - dreadful! He has a great touch and looks really silky on the ball, but then a gust of wind can blow him down. He is not a PL player, and unfortunately I can’t see that changing. I think he was an awful purchase - only made to force the Gallagher sale through. Chukwuemeka offers MUCH more than Felix, and it was a shame he was sick yesterday. I’d like to see Chuk get another chance in one of these cup games - he could be a backup to Palmer.

I think Jorgensen, Tosin, Veiga, Dewsbury-Hall and Nkunku are all pushing for places although displacing players like Fernandez who cost £100 million is never easy.

Unless both Fofana and Sanchez in particular improve then I think Tosin and Jorgensen are breathing down their necks and ready to step in.

Don’t think I agree with this at all. I guess time will tell.

So far I dont see much point in Felix, Id rather we had given that berth in the squad to Chukwuemeka.

All style, no real substance - Felix

I'm not overly worried about Felix and we're not relying on him as a first teamer anyway. If he doesn't work out then given his big name we should recoup a good percentage of the £45 million we paid for him tbf.

So it wouldn't be a big financial loss, especially as it's not a huge transfer fee in today's market. Think we just need to be patient with him and see if he can start affecting games more in terms of assists and goals etc.

Felix will always be a divisive player tbf - lazy & lightweight but has tekkers.

Don't mind him personally. We don't need him & I wouldn't wanna be in a position where we relied on him, but he's a nice complacent to the squad being it's most skilful player. Gives him more value than the likes of Mudryk & Madueke to me.

Hasn’t seemed lazy in his time here.

He can be impactful from the bench as he's got these special moments in him. Can't see him being consistent enough to nail down a starting position.

I'm quite positive about our attacking options, they all offer something.

Bit worried about the midfield physicality, CB and GK

This

And not taking away from any of our signings (they are all looking ok) but I would rather have had a striker, a CB, a more defensive mf, or a keeper instead of all of them. However, not gonna lie our attack does now look quite tasty and hopefully it really clicks going forward.

Again, big props to the team last night, a good performance and great seeing the B team look like a team and as superb said minus maybe Diaster I would happily see anyone who played last night in the first team either off the bench or as cover. However, also like Superb said we are potentially 1 injury away from a hot mess (CB or RB).

I am a little anxious about Forest. Havent beaten them at home since theyve been promoted, and they sit really deep and deny space

This wont be like Brighton or Gent, it will be 11 men behind the ball and trying to rob us at set pieces or intercepting one of our wayward passes at the back. Which is what they did to us last season.

posted 2 weeks, 1 day ago

Ward Prowse has a great cross on him and is a danger at freekicks, Elanga and CHO are both erratic but good enough to pounce on Sanchez and Fofana bananna skins at the back. Wood is a big lump but dangerous in the air. Can see them defending all game and waiting for a moment off a set piece or a Sanchez howler.

I dont think game is a cert same way others might. Would love an early goal to force them to play and give us space

Gonna be a good test - think this will be the first time Enzos team selection abilities will come into play. As someone said Nkunku should probably start ahead of Jackson in this instant. And certainly the likes of Muds and Mads shouldn't be starting in favor of IMO would be Sancho and Neto

Just realised how big our four games after international break are in PL. After Forest at home we have:

a) Liverpool
h) Newcastle
a) Manchester United
h) Arsenal

Agree. Don't see the need to feel anxious, it's a good gauge to see if this team & manager are any better at handling low blocks. No drama if we don't manage it cos it's a known problem, wouldn't be a step backwards.

Or a good chance for the moaners to come out of the woodwork and have a good moan if we struggle in those games. Haven't been enough good moaning opportunities so far this season
