Think there are plenty of other players in the team and squad that I can say I've enjoyed watching in parts this season. Sancho looks like a significant improvement on Mudryk. Madueke has been good in patches, particularly in that Wolves game scoring a hatrick. Caicedo is looking the real deal in midfield as is Lavia in the times we've seen him. Nkunku as well of course, who's already scored seven goals.

It's obviously very early days but based on what we have to go on so far the signs are promising and the football has been entertaining enough to watch.

In direct comparison to last season after 6 PL matches we already have 8 points more than we did this time last season. We currently have 13 points compared to the 5 points we had this time last season. And interestingly we have exactly the same points as we did after six games in Tuchel's first full season here.

The next four or five games are going to be tough, no doubt. Especially as we have to play two of the best three teams in the division. Not to mention facing a Forest side tomorrow who beat Liverpool at Anfield. But when aren't games tough in the PL really. It's always tough lol.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's the wrong comparison to make. The team at the beginning of last season was much much poorer than the team that finished last season, and that is the team that Maresca inherited, not the one at the beginning of last season.

Frustrating player, could be utterly deverstating if he could execute final pass and finish well.

So the team being poor in the first couple months of last season wasn't anything to do with the manager ?

That is not what I said.

The point is the team that finished last season was better than the team that started last season and for obvious reasons, a much better comparison to the team that started this season.

But all together the whole results comparison thing is utter bollix anyhow.

Fact is this season so far we have looked good from an attacking perspective against three very weak defensive teams on the day in West Ham, Brighton and Wolves.

We were understandably out played by a better team in Man City. The Palace game was hard match to gauge anything from.

It is clear from all our performances so far that we ourselves are defensively weak.

The most encouraging performance in the PL so far was possibly the win over Bournemouth. We suffered that day for 70 minutes, took plenty of blows but hung in there and for me we were the only team going to win it at the end, which did.

But in summary there is simply not enough evidence to start making unsubstantiated claims that we are better than last season. That claim can only be properly debated towards the end of this season.

Not as much as it was to do with the previous manager and the chaotic nature of player acquisitions.

Expecting Palmer to get some treatment today and be manmarked. Need a good ref who will act on any foul rotation.

I have only time I've seen refs clamp down on it was when Herrera got sent off against Hazard in the FA Cup— and then Mourinho made a huge stink about it and Herrera was allowed to kick Hazard off the pitch at Old Trafford three months later.

We're certainly more than just Palmer in attack so if they're overly focusing on him then it just gives more time and space for the likes of Madueke, Jackson and Sancho to operate and cause damage

I remember that. United played that really weird formation and benched Ibra to get Rashford running in-behind.

Everyone being like Mourinho broke Conte, nah it was just a whole lot of man marking

Palmer is still our only 'guarantee' in terms of showing up regularly — we're still highly reliant on him.
