extra time should start with 11 each and every 5 mins each team loses a player of their choice until the
30 mins is up.
or just play until it ends even if that means 18 hours
the teams play on but with no remaining players - apart from the goalkeeper - on the pitch who started the game.

Love it.
Put the ball in the centre circle and have both keepers charge towards it from their respective goals. Intense.
No remind me
Treseguet scored one for France I recall...
Bet the Germans are fuming over this, it makes them look as though they have Fifa in their pocket what with Bayern being held up as fiscally sensible, the bundesleague being held up as the epitome of common sense and now this after looking like winning the math for 120 minutes.
Not going to be too happy at all, watch out the Swiss is all I can say that a Panzer in the back garden no mistake.
I mean they didnt want the world to know they had them in the back pocket, that Blatter, no sense of timing.
There'sOnlyOneReds - with 25 man squads being the limit, that could get tricky with injuries and such. Plus it wouldn't really be fair on smaller teams that would struggle to provide that many players, so I'd say that is a bit pie in the sky x
both managers should be given supersoakers, and face off in the centre circle. first one to step out of the circle loses

Switch the supersoakers for paintball guns, no protective armour allowed except for goggles, and that's be an awesome way to decide a match :D
Bigger goals (even just a foot or two max) In all games would have the following effect
Easier to score so more goals would be scored
Reduces the effectiveness of parking the bus because its harder to keep a clean sheet.
More goals equals more entertainment because more goals would be scored
There would less penalty shootouts because with more goals being scored draws are statistically less likely.
How about a game of hide and seek? The two team captains go and hide somewhere and the fourth official has to go and find them. Whoever he finds first is the loser.
Honestly, scrapping penalties! Was he born yesterday? Has he forgotten that replayed finals don't work? Or that golden goal was a farce? Or that silver goal was just plain stupid??
Really, if he's that bothered, perhaps he should come up with some better ideas. It all smacks of anti-English and perhaps there should be an investigation.
After ET, both managers have to play a game of Blockbusters to decide the winner.
Perhaps the winner should be announced with the phrase "That's numberwang!" I feel it would stop a lot of problems x
That wouldn't work, X. That is clearly not numberwang.
75. That's numberwang.
81 is the only number in the universe which sum of it's figures is also it's square root.
Which is nice, but it's not numberwang x

There's probably some unfathomably massive number that is like that too. Just nobody has done the maths to back it up...Yet.

why was the golden goal a farce...?

Because it was boring and stupid. Football has always been on a time limit, it is not fair if one team score, the other team don't have a chance to score.
Furthermore with both teams knowing that, they don't go at 100% to win the game and it results in both teams looking uninterested in attacking.

Yes but there would also be less skill involved in scoring a goal which would pretty much ruin the game for me.
Players would shoot on sight and there would be less passing/build up play. The most valuable footballers would suddenly be those who can hoof it from distance. Players like Messi would be less effective and players like Gibson would become world class. In short, it would no longer be football.
Also, the following statement makes no sense at all.
"More goals equals more entertainment because more goals would be scored"
I hope it's sunny today because sunshine makes the day better because it's sunny. Okay...

There are no better alternatives than penalties to decide a match. When is this useless moron Blatter ever going to learn!
