great discussion going on here and i agree fully with the need to change the way in which the benefit system is run.
why wont it change? well, the first government to propose such radical measures will have a hoard of jobless idiots suddenly voting for their "right" to free money, so which party wants that as their next proposal for government?
What needs to be done here is a cross party agreement that this issue needs tackling, regardless of who gets into power.
its not only about re-training the mindset of some of these people into thinking that nothing comes for free, but the good this "workforce" could do for the economy is immense. we are after all, already paying the staff!!
