the debt levels and wage/turnover ratios in football are ridiculous so i do think FFP is brought in to protect clubs. The sheikh's money may filter through football but it also contributes to inflation and the crazy market today.

I'm sure the inflated price we paid for Lescott has kept Everton afloat

doubt it, they spend most of the money on other players. and they wouldn't have negotiated so hard if they were that desperate for the money.

Real Madrid had to borrow £80m to buy Ronaldo and United were more than happy to accept it. It seems the Free Market Economy is great unles someone from outside the clique wants to join in.

Blackburn were champions too and spent less comparitively.

Whatever the case may be, the fact remains you are a small club

Was the same 4 clubs getting the riches of the CL every season so they could buy the best players and maintain their status exciting?

It was assured in February that the title was staying in Manchester. Half of me wants that to be the case every season but the other half thinks it will be bad for the PL in general.

were'nt City fans saying FFP won't be a problem anyway because your owners are such great businessmen

posted on 4/7/12

Don't see it being a problem for City,we'll see

I think the FFP also came about to stop owners who back the club and prop up (with loans for) the club with transfers and wages and then suddenly decide they want out to think more long term than short term.

I think it was Grenta in Scotland who had such an owner, they were backed by their owner and rised through the leagues to the SPL very quickly. But when the owner backed out, the club when into administration.

Utd are my local club too Boris, been in my family for generations.

Still doesn't change the fact that City are a small club, which is why your sponsorship isn't as big. Can't blame the sponsors seeing as you guys do not turn up to support your team even when tickets are going for 15-20 quid against Juventus.

Big club man yoo could've been champions if they hadn't choked the 8 point lead

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bigger club than "yoo" though.

New money does not a big club make sunshine.

Typical shiteh, got their title and still bitter cos they can`t overhaul everything else we`ve got over night.

Just enjoy it!!

It's great knowing that we'll see Vincent Kompany lifting the trophy at the start of MOTD for the next 9 months.

Even greater if they manage to find any footage of city "legends" to go with everyone elses.

Not really, much prefer the here and now as I'm not a Scouser.

They could show footage of an oil refinery boris if that helps.
