I guarantee if Celtic and Rangers don't meet each in say two seasons, fans will start to say this miss the old firm games

I mean come on it's the biggest fixture in Scottish football, it's like taking Barca and Madrid and Liverpool and Man Utd out of the there leagues

Old firm is what I have loved for as long as I can remember and fluck me that's a long time

Tbbab,

You'll always find fans 'happy to mix' over the length and breadth of Glasgow. No football fan is enjoying this. What chance have we of, at the least: leadership. Phuqq all.

Would like to think you're right, Eth, though I have my doubts.

The OF game is the biggest game in British football.

Probably only el Classico eclipses it in Europe or maybe one of the big Turkish derbies

Ath - I seriously believe that no Glasgow derby x 4v (bar the warm balls in cup competitiioms) may indeed contribute to a rebuilding of Scottish Football

The die hards will soon be gone, it's the wee N..E..D..S that you have to watch

Either bitter a fluck and follow the RA or bitter as fluck and UDF lovers, this will never go away as unfortunalty they have been brought up this way

I mean take away the old firms games but can you take away the marches ?

Me too,and Rangers v Celtic has been a major part of my life, and mates, for over 30 yrs now.
We could do without the nasty stuff, but what a game, build up and aftermath mate.

Always liked the line that both teams went at it,hell for leather for 45 minutes, then the ref produced the ball.

Eth, so are you saying that Scottish football will be better without Rangers?

As junky has said the beams will always be beams regardless of whether rangers or Celtic are around or not.

Football just gives them a platform but it's a social issue not a football one

Always surprised and impressed how many bears and bhoys mixed and got on,and I think old hatreds are fading.

As Jinky stated, some wee ra and uv neds will be around to spoil things, but the majority have moved on imo.
Diversity and respect go hand in hand.

There are too many decent Rangers fans for me to want to see them fold completely, so on that basis I would say dae yer time and then come back into the fold.

The only thing about that is that there are many Rangers fans who have this perception that everybody has taken kicks at them. Apart from the votes about which league they play in I don't see it anywhere else. I would like them to come back as Dos Dados said a few months ago, with a degree of humility.

However I don't think that will happen, but whatever, if they have served any punishments handed down, then they are entitled to take their place again.

Ath - are Rangers to stop playing football - I thought that you were in the 4th flight

Potential to prosper????

Where is the potential?

Year on year it's getting worse but you think having less cash , less interest and no old fi games will be a good thing?

I don't want Rangers to fold as i love the games, however the thing that would make these games better is if we only met twice in the league.Meeting each other four times dilutes a great fixture for everyone.

I our game needs to come out of this strong after everything that has happened, I hope our game does prosper and with a chance to bring through the youth that can only be good fir our game but I am old school and seen some greats in our game but that has always had the Gers like theblue says I love the build up and the banter with my pals after, that's what I will miss

But I hear you the shlite that comes with it everyone could do without

Hi everyone

To answer Ath's question. No. I sincerely do not want Rangers gone, finished, kaput etc... However, I genuinely fear that may well be the case. Im a sports fan..love most of em.. Im a football fan, love Celtic. Ill love Celtic and continue to support the club no matter if Rangers are around or not. But Scottish football would be a lot more competitive if ra gers are about and being a football fan that is what I want to see.
