"Assuming everyone is fit and turns up "
Well we know that won't happen. Very few of the players have any desire to play for the north.
But entertaining your thoughts, Hughes is no right back, McCartney is no CB and Healy shouldn't be anywhere near the starting XI. Sentimentality for Healy is not needed.
Forgot about Lafferty he would probably get in ahead of Healy or alongside him instead of McCourt if he turns up.
Chris baird? He has to play.
McCartney has walked out on us twice - dont want him back
Mcauley at left back? is that a joke?
McGinn has shown he isn't good enough to start and should be an impact sub.
As for Healy - he is done as a professional footballer never mind as a long striker at International level.
Even Camp to start is a bit of a hot topic but i think he will get the nod.
My team would be:
Camp (GK)
Barid (RB)
Hughes (CB)
Evans (CB)
McGivern (LB)
Brunt (RW)
Davis (CM)
Clingan (CM)
Ferguson (LW)
Lafferty (FW)
Patterson (FW)
if you want to go 4-4-1-1 then drop Patterson for McCourt who plays off the striker.
P.S - Less of the No Surrender billhooks - you look like you have arrived in a delorean!
"very few of the players have any desire to play for the north."
Errr, ye wha??
Who is this Ulster team than Johny Evans plays for? didnt know he played for Ulster GAA? because there isnt a soccer team in this world called 'Ulster'
there also isnt a football team bafana bafana - but that was all you heard at the last world cup
Godfather. is there an international football team called "the north" ?

..........................................................................
There also isn't a "soccer" team called Ireland uglybloke but you constantly refer to it lol.......................
Personally I would go for:-
Taylor
Baird Hughes Evans McGivern
Mcginn Davis Clingan Ferguson
McCourt
Lafferty
Or possibly Healy and Lafferty up front and drop McCourt to the bench as an impact sub.
Subs:-
Camp
McAuley
McPake
McCann
Brunt
McQuoid
Healy
Paterson
Little
I think Brunt would have got on from the start a few years ago but is far too inconsistent for my liking.
I have never described NI as the 'North'. I describe them as our B team
Camp
McAuley Hughes Evans McGivern
Baird Clingan
McCourt Davis Ferguson
Lafferty
A better balance I think, although up front is a major worry.
Camp must be the keeper and will improve with international experience
Surprises me how many people dont want brunt in the team - our only regular PL midfielder in the last 3 years.
Went from a squad player to WBA Captain in that time - and some people dont want him near the team? He plays week in week out on the RW so we should play him there which allows ferguson to play on the LW.
Begs the question, as we're your "B Team", presumably you'll be fervently supporting us?
gawa
The vast majority of NI supporters would not have Brunt on the team.
I have been an outspoken critic of his and it makes it all the more galling that he can play so well in the Premiership, yet garbage for his country.
36 caps and you could count the number of decent games in one hand.
While he hasn't done it for his country compared to PL level at least his has it in him to reach those levels for us. I dont think players like McGinn, C Evans or other RW options do.
In our position we cant afford not to play our players who play week in week out at a higher level. Plus i think his set pieces are much better than anything else we have.

Nah we will just take your best young talent thank you very much.
Yea, how is this "best young talent" faring for Southern Ireland ?
Brunt is obviously a talented player but after 36 caps and 1 goal its maybe time he showed a bit of this talent for his Country.
As for the free kicks I do remember one blinder whizzing past me.
Pity I was sitting in the North Stand at the time.
GAWA.
All i'm saying is that I think Brunt never puts in the performances for OWC that he does for West Brom. The guys obviously talented and in my opinion has one of the best left feet in the PL. However, I think dropping him to the bench for, say, the 1st half in favour of Mcginn would do him no harm and give him a serious kick up the backside. Whie I agree McGinn can be very patchy, he has pace to burn and can definitely go past players. We never really found a replacement for Gillespie, who could run fast and fire in decent crosses. I'm very much for putting out our strongest available team against Finland, but why not try a few things while we're at it?
Uglybloke Godfather actually lives in and pays taxes to the UK lol...............

Gibson, McClean and Wilson have just been named in the Ireland squad thank you very much, and if it werent for traps 'nigel nose' type selection, Young Duffy could have been in there thank you very much.
How did they get on at the Euros, Godfather?
