Huddersfield Town v Nottingham Forest

I've noticed a lot of hostility between Leeds / Huddersfield on these boards recently.

Is this down to geographical proximity or is there more to it than that?

Always hated one up top with Clark but not too worried about formations under Grayson. If we approach the game in the same manner as friday then formations become a bit irrelevant - press the ball - surround their man on the ball - hunt in packs - then break at speed - that's what we did superbly on Friday - never saw it under Clark.

Another plus was how many supporting midfielders we got around their box - gone are the day's of Clark's 6-man backline when we attack.

Quality pre-match article just gone on the dreadfully slow Town website - finshes with "Directions to the Cardiff City Stadium:" and then gives directions to Nottingham - all for a home game. You couldn't make it up.

le-ds have a long history of being unwelcome.. their team started it and some of their "supporters" have perpetuated it..

this "nobody like us" tag, like millwall has been well earned...

if you are at home and you beat yeovil, would any self respecting hooligan brick the yeovil fans coaches??

le-ds did.. they like the "intimidating" atmosphere at home games.. newcastle is 100 times noisier as is stoke etc but you dont have to dodge missiles getting in and out, or even inside the ground and you dont feel that a gang of ars-holes is just waiting for any opportunity to jump a couple of you on your way in and out.. Le-ds is the only ground in 45 years of watching football where i was spat at by "females"...from behind the police lines of course...

cant work out why they dont do what other "firms" do..just organise a meet somewhere away from the ground and beat the sh-te out of each other..nobody would give a sh-t..

peltie reported a load of racial abuse from stewards at millwall, nothing happened, the stewards could not be identified??? Then the millwall manager said he understood the frustrations of the crowd when a lino got hit with a missile at the new den..
A big enema is required at this type of club...

I remember back in our Cloughie days, going to Leeds away. Lost 1-0 (Shilton had mud in his eye and the ref didn't allow the trainer on)

We were bricked and bottled from outside the ground into our penned area. Police were as bad as the idiots throwing them in by insisting that we stood still

After the game we got back to our bus to find we had no windows in the sides and as we set off they continued to throw objects at us.

They were morons back then. Never been back. Wish i had last season though 7-3 you just couldn't make it up

Sounds familiar.

Thanks chaps.

Leeds away will be even more "entertaining" from now on as they won the court case over policing so just outside of the police protected area will not be a place for opposition fans to hang around in.

I still find that side of things depressing, I was at the Widnes stadium recently and its arguably a more deprived area and yet it was a decent place to watch a game and had some banter without fear of attack

they will still be policed properly.. its just that there will be much fewer police on the beat on saturdays and tuesday nights etc..
the proper people in le-ds will pay for the court ruling one way or another.. ken bates wont.. like i said thay all seem to like "the no one likes us tag", same as millwall... I wont go to elland road this season, simple reasons, its a sh=thole, its unsafe for visiting "proper people", it will be stupidly expensive to watch a cobbled together kick and rush team who still have thsi idea that anyone other tham themselves is remotely interested in them...
Anyone who takes on Diouf needs a full enema.. pearce looked a decent player for them, wish town had thought about getting him when we bought half the bournemouth team..rudolph looked promising as well, the rest just looked kick/rush, niggle and argue.....

I've had a full enema but I wouldn't take on Diouf

they tried to pull the crush barriers down at leeds road the walls were clearly moving that supported the fencing!...then there,s the stone throwing into to compound behind the lowerfield stand at their place!...morons

100 years of inter breeding has produced a city full of mutants...they should learn to leave their grannies, mothers, sisters and daughters alone....what do you expect, of course they're all loonies..

Not all Leeds fans are idiots but they do have a large section that, as 38 stated, tend to welcome the "everybody hates us" tag as if it is a good thing rather than trying to leave that image in the 70s or 80s where it belongs.

I do work at a lot of houses in the Leeds area and the amount of thick-set, tattooed numpties who think they impress me by regaling stories of hooliganism and general nuisance is astounding. I mean, what is so impressive about getting drunk and terrorising some clubs' family enclosure?

The first fixture against them at home in League One (1-0 Andy Holdsworth ) some idiot three rows behind me in the family stand thought he'd look cool in front of his pals by singing that famous Hitler youth song of theirs about 5 mins in. He was told to button it, ignored the advice, and then given a fat lip and promptly ejected for his own safety with tears in his eyes.

Though in Leeds United la-la land this probably translated back to his mates that he'd taken on 500 of Huddersfield's meanest and won blindfolded. They're idiots and I hope Sir Dean puts the away prices at something like £50 no concessions when they come here in December.

they will all be sitting in the home sections champagne.. cos they are so big.. or maybe because fewer of them bought season tickets this year so cant buy from their own allocation??
and this is the only game they can afford to get a bus to???

by the way, the numbers not buying season tickets who will travel up to 20 miles to see an away game will steadily increase at le-ds..

dean dont be a mug...let em have 4000 at reasonably silly prices, no point cutting off your nose to spite your face is there??? it hasnt helped em much over the last few meetings at our place.. even when they sing the updated version of the hitler youth song..

Evening dog botherers!

Thought this was a town v forest match thread? Looks like it's turned into another Leeds bashing thread instead!

It's true we do have (more than) our fair share of idiots but dont tar us all with the same brush, many of us have a full set of teeth and no tattoos or piercings!!!

I think bates is pricing more and more of the idiots away from elland road to be honest.

Not sure when we bricked a Yeovil bus either to be honest but I'm sure you'll remind me. You have a fair few d-ck heads too you know! Alan smith getting tw@ted on the pitch springs to mind (not that I blame them for doing it but that's beside the point!)

I wouldn't mention the 'I' word too loudly. The last thing we need on this thread are a load of over-excited, salivating Barnsley supporters

The Leeds market is amazing, its like a holding pen for the Jeremy Kyle show!

To be honest It should be on the tourist signs entering Leeds. I'd much rather stare at toothless scrotes in spermstained Lonsdale tracksuits than do anything at the Royal Armouries!!!
