Our transfer budget was £55m for this summer and yet we still ended up making a £10m profit., who could blame them though it's not an easy task to find better players than Gervinho, Theo and Diaby.

Walcott is now officially a free agent.

Why did he sell RvP?

"Our transfer budget was £55m "
This was more rumored than actual I guess

Undoubtedly the 50Mn is sitting in some high interest account earning 1% or so given how rates are so low because of the financial crisis.

We must have some indication that Theo will sign on - agreement of some sort.

Probably waiting for Arshavin to go. The Russian window closes in 5 days.

1% for business account for £50m+? Where?

Money market accounts get about 0.3%.

Jenius 10 yr swaps are ~2%. Its not that we are going to use the money anyway. Might as well lock it up for a long time and give Stan's grandsons some briefacses full of cash for their 21st birthday

As the transfer window closed now, it's time for Arsenal's physio room reveal all the injuries.

Yeah and numerous International banks are offering ~3% even on business accounts. Thank god for credit crunch mk2. Its more about hoarding cash.

Just isn't very clever for any business to do unless they are very exposed to EZ and waiting for the Euro to collapse.

Indeed Jenius, but maybe that's our grand plan with the 50mn. High credit spread = lets park our money in 10 year accounts

Why? The Sky TV deal comes into action next year, which would mean an automatic increase in revenue. Plus new sponsorships in 2014. Best time to push for a trophy was this year! Take advantage of Spanish and Italian money woes.

I just don't get the strategy at all!

I hate the fact that Wenger and the board can consistently lie to us
........

About time you guys realised this. Looking in from the outside it's so obvious. You make a profit every window (why do you think RVP was never actually offered a contract?) and that's all the board cares about. You're fecking lucky you have a genius like Wenger in charge.

Giroud and Podolski will score more than RVP did last season (combined). Bookmark this if you want.

It's a genuine shame we weren't thrashed 5-0 in our two opening games, at least we would have panic bought like last year... That 8-2 loss to United ended up saving our entire season.

Still agree with my own comment. Obviously I'd rather be sensible and not need to panic buy but not buying at all is shocking.
